Hi, i usually don´t use DAWs, and my Host has no sequenzing.
I want to start to use a independend 303 Style sequenzer to deal with other synths too, other the ABL3. ( i´m on mac, in case that would play a role)

Where should i look first ?
Has to have a good pattern save+load workflow.
( which is a -for me- very weak point of the ABL3, and has literally killed my motivation to work further with it)

HY-sequenzers ? Which one ?
Others ?

i have VCV Rack in case there´s something to look at.

If you have vcv it has endless amounts of sequencers, preset saving is more or less the same as abl

yeah, that´s what i found when i looked into it,....but that was some time ago. A year or even two.

ok, i start to remember. I want a "slide" button. Accent button.
Hy-Seq Acid seems to have that.
Has a Demo, i´ll give this one a try first.

Thanks everybody !

more tipps welcome anyway.

510k SEQUND and Audiomodern Riffer are great. Both can do the basic 303 thing well. On top of that, SEQUND adds randomization and Riffer adds ratcheting.

I forgot D16 Phoscyon has a nice sequencer bot no midi* out of the plug-in but you can drag-out/export patterns and midi

*correction midi out works

dont remember SEQUND and Riffer having slides

you can route midi out of acid V

I use loomer architect in DAWs with no midi. Pigmen’s internal sequencer is the goat and can drive external synths and vsti via midi. When don’t want midi coz sloppy sh*t timing then I use either betwig or reaktor blocks sequencer for CV

ok, thanks for feedback !

i have some of these. I´ll look into it.

Yes, both do it. In Seqund, there is a Hold lane. In Riffer, there is a window for Duration. Also, I forgot that the last Seqund update added ratchets.

ok, i have Seqund, i think i only worked once with it and was then sidetracked by some reason.
Or maybe i lost my work based on something ? a PC switch or so ? I like the optics and the GUI. I´ll look into it. it looks intuitiv and quick to operate.
Good Tip !

But things need to be all in sight in one go. At last for me.
Otherwise does the handling start to become completly unintuitiv.
I´m nolonger 20 or 30, when i´d just have all in mind. ;)

I had the Riffer demo already installed.
Guess i once thought this could be the big thing.
i´m not an OCD person. But seeing a gui with grey on black something OCD kicks in. Leave out dark grey on black. ;)

Really, the only 303 style sequencer plugins all have 303’s synths in them.

And all the fun of the 303 sequencer comes from the mistakes you make trying to input your steps and pitches on the hardware. :D
