Anyway, never heard of this PS-1 but has some lovely sounds. For any newbies interested, it works in Reaper.
I imagine he took the Pentagon 1 skins down since it was abandoned so many years ago.

Yes the PS-1 has some very nice sounds and I think it could be a viable commercial synth again if updated to modern specs with some additional waveform content.

But it only took me 30 seconds to type that sentence and there's no telling how many days, weeks, months of work it would take to make that dream come to fruition if it's even possible. Who knows if the source code still exists, if Luigi would be interested, etc.....

No update yet. This is the most recent version (1.2). Who knows what the future holds.

Speaking of Pentagon 1, wow that's a flashback.. 8)

Remember this other one (PSYN II) ?
It doesn't look like it was made by the same people.

It is indeed. A couple of days ago I dug out one of my old DAWs that's running Win XP and it still boots up and works fine. I found a bunch of old plugins on it and went down a nostalgia rabbit hole.

Pentagon 1, Triangle 2, Ambience Reverb, White Noise Audio's Zero Vector, and tons more. Lots of fun looking back to....and I can't believe I'm saying this....the old days.

They all still sound great but then I think about the sound of what we have at our fingertips these days and I can hear the progress that's been made by developers over that time.

I do remember PSYN II. Wasn't it part of Cakewalk Sonar back in those days?

Yep! Just for kicks, I reinstalled Sonar X3 on my PC today.

Triangle 1 was great, Zero Vector was a bass monster.

Nothing much has changed really, just bell's and whistles. Some people think complex = quality. Not always the case, very rarely in fact.
How original

Cool! I own a Sonar X3 license. Is there still some place to download it and it can still be authorized? I've probably got the install backed up on some old hard drive but that would be quite a search to find it.

If you remember your login at Cakewalk you can find it there :)
Sonar X3 use offline Registration so you only have to use your Serial number to register your license.

I think I had backed up mine after logging in on the Cakewalk site at one point. It authorized today and is working.

Fantastic, thanks! I do remember my login and have just completed downloading the base install files along with the Serial number. I don't think I'll bother with the "Loops and One Shots" and Rapture etc at this point.

How awesome is it that Cakewalk is still hosting the files after all these years and with a really fast download speed? They couldn't be faulted if they stuck the files on an old server running at half the speed of smell but nope, blazing fast still to this day.

So kudos to Cakewalk for taking care of their customers long after they ceased business under the old ownership. :tu:

Even the online authorization download manager app that they started to use on their products around the time when Gibson took over does also still work :tu:
