Playing with the Oxi One. It’s a fun beast. Pretty intuitive although it would help me with my crappy eyesight tremendously if the legends on the buttons were more legible though hopefully not an issue once the controls layout becomes second nature. Probably should have held out for an OG silver model, its buttons are white rather than black with dark grey legends.
The built in random tools are great for generating basslines though I wouldn’t recommend it for melodies or chords.

YES!!!

Now I will be able to access all 32 channels from my H9000 and 32 channels from the RedNet3, without re-patching. This will make it much easier to route I/O from my Expert Sleepers interfaces directly through the H9000. I'm super stoked!

Someone over on MW asked me my opinion about some modules that weren't really something I think I'd like, but I answered with modules that I do like... and that led to a patch... and that led to a recording. But in the midst of that I really, really wanted to have my Doepfer A-150 back in the rack because I found I had no good way to just switch something.
Jumbler, even with Radiate set low, isn't suitable for it because it's not exactly 1.0 gain so that messes up pitch sequences. None of my VCAs hit exactly 1.0 gain. Going through Bitwig also means issues with gain/linearity. And I have no way to re-quantize to fix something like that. That was a few days after I had realized I just am not using Jumbler to the potential I originally saw in it, whereas I absolutely love all my other Make Noise modules. So I did some shuffling.

The A-150 and A-151 were some of the last Doepfer modules I replaced. The 4hp dual crossfader too. I’ve actually been thinking of building a small A-100 system again.
I have an Instruo Tain now, and I frequently pair that with an attenuverter/offset, so it can act as a simple comparator.
I’ve mostly been using Jumbler to route signals through multiple effects in parallel and while it’s a neat patch, I think it’s hard to do in a subtle way. I’ll probably keep it but it’s in a spill over case at the moment.

Been moving lots of stuff around the 84HP racks again, now that the Onerei/drone Go case is mostly done. Probably shuffled around 30-35 modules over the weekend.
Well, I say mostly done, Im pretty much set on swapping the Metamodule in alongside the Oneiroi. I also swapped out the Selam for a Doepfer A-143-3 quad LFO, and removed a couple of other 4HP things.
I also added two Four LFO's into the 84HP racks. En route are a Four Play quad VCA, and some second hand bits from SignalSounds - a Doepfer 4HP A145-4 quad LFO, a (rather cheap at £74) 8HP Clouds clone, and a 4HP 'Bad Comrade' glitch delay module I'd never heard of before, but was so cheap it wasnt worth not trying. The latter two are currently definitely going into the Go case.
I also bought one of the new Launchcontrol XLs. It wont run with my main DAW system, as that's still Win7, but I decided to start slowly picking up the bits I'll need as 'infrastructure' when I replace that (next year maybe?).I still want a control surface on that desk in the longer term, but no longer have room for something the size of the ProjectMix I removed to make room for the Go case. Im probably going to get an RME Digiface USB interface so I can keep most of my existing audio IO via ADAT. (Maybe even all of if I keep the Win7 PC going as a second system, there's some stuff there that's Win7 only, and some that I wouldnt be able to reauthorise)

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

No, they haven't done the ring mod yet. And they have to redo MURF.vurt wrote: Mon Aug 18, 2025 7:21 pm have behringer done all the mooger foogers? even the clusterflux or whatever it was called?

Today I started thinking about quantizers, because apparently there is not enough going on right now or something
I kind of want a small, simple one where you can select the notes it allows, like a Penrose. But I also kind of want microtonal/xenharmonic scale support. But I also know that I'm not going to want a quantizer in every patch (because of how long I've tended to go without one), so it makes less sense for me to get a dedicated thing like Tubbutec uTune than maybe an Ornament & Crime or Disting again.
Except I had O_C and Disting twice each and sold them both times
To be fair, the first O_C was intended for Piqued, to replace my Peaks and also get some tasty Euclidean rhythms... and I found I wanted simpler, less menu-fiddly envelopes instead. I had a small rig and used MIDI sequencing so I didn't really need much else O_C offered.
The second time was shortly after Hemispheres came out and I wanted to try the various utilities, mostly because I wanted to do some patching that required comparators. But after a few of those patches, it just felt redundant and inferior to Bitwig Grid integration.
My first Disting was great for learning different modular functions, and realizing that I actually liked wavetable oscillators. But I the interface and cheat sheets got tiresome pretty quickly. The second one was when EX came out, and I thought the screen would make it easier to work with. No cheat sheet needed anymore, but I still found it fiddly, and again, there's Bitwig Grid.
But a quantizer might be a valid primary use for one of those, and then I could still do other things with it on the side. O_C's quantizers have some sequence generation stuff that also seems like it would be fun, and it looks like there are a few audio apps for Phazerville including a crosspanner... which is one of the other things I was thinking about. So, hmmm... looks like I need to catch up on what happened with O_C over the past few years

I have Phazerville in both of my two O_c. I've always found O_c very useful but overwhelming unless I only focus on a few of the apps. I can barely remember what most of them do, let alone how they work. The one in my Buchla system is almost always set to Seq-8 and the Dual Quantizer. The one in my euro system is often set to comparator and an LFO, envelope or CV recorder. I mainly use a CVz for quantizer duties.
Mimetic Digitwolus will have the ability to be a 4 channel quantizer. I'm not sure if it 's a special mode or if it's just using a CV input to transpose a sequence that doesn't advance, but they said you can import custom scales in scala format.
