Hi,
please help with cutoff filter issue in Reason 13 (or with filters in any DAW, it is not a Reason 13 issue) - no combinator please
problem: when I raise the LP cutoff filter amount, the volume becomes louder - logically.
question: what can I do, that the volume stays the same?
goal: when LP cutoff signal is e.g. 30%, it should have the same volume like if it is around 90% or even 100% cutoff.
Greets
Info: I know how to do with a combinator...

Thanks, I am a bit into it only, e.g. with that mastering m-bus compressor device for the final mixdown, but let me know please: how exactly you would go for this case with a compressor?

You could you a compressor or limiter as dalle says but if too extreme it could affect the sound. Personally I would just draw in volume automation in my daw or automation on the gain tool in reason.

I find a compressor doesn´t really achieve the wanted effect in this case...
I personally never found a better way than doing an opposite automation on the volume of this instrument:
Cutoff frequency up = volume down (with experimentation what´s the best curve)
That´s for me the only working way for the more transparent results I am looking for.

Use a limiter, BUT alimiter that does nothing but keep the sound at the level you want, like Limiter #6, Loudmax, but I always find I always use Wave Breaker.
