It had some limitation, but with a clever use of it one could avoid this limitations.
I know FL5 is much more flexible, but I just can't get in touch with it.
Besides, it's full of annoying bugs.

My question is: is there something I can do with 5 and cannot do with 4?
i use the new "dynamic-audio" function - save me the manual "pitch" of my used "audio files" :o ...till now, i always found this a little circumstantial...i don't need either the "FPC", this always has converted by means of "layer"...but i already find good the "wasp xt" with a "modulator envelope" - it's okay *smile*...
the "collab" tool gave anyway independently of it...but this one wasn't with some "plugins" definitely before, "bow" have some things tested :shock: ...one has the total is and this makes cheese adjusted the support for fasttracker "xi-files" *grrr*...
resume - i must give you properly in the great and whole :roll: ...cu

The most obvious being the improved audio engine, now with all sorts of cool parameters for the audio track and sampler generators. For those who are into sound design/sample manipulation, FL Studio is now a premiere tool for warping simple samples into complex evolving soundscapes and bizarre drum hits. Take the standard set of drum sounds, and alter the stretch parameters. Along with pogo, fade in/out, and the normalize function, the stretch facilities in 5 can change the sound in ways that most samplers, especially those devoted to drums, cannot.

Thanks atomic_afro, this was exactly what I wanted to know. I think I'll update to 5.01 and spend a little time to get the feel with new functions.

For mausoleum, what in the hell are you saying? Having FL4 bundled i don't have to STEAL FL5. Anyway I'm a musician (a drummer with a "physical" band), so I know how annoying can be when someone steals your work.
I'm using only free software and software I can afford to BUY. I really don't like this stuff.

oi, calm down, it was just a rude joke with a bit of a zeitgeist in it. and two tips for enhanced legit use.

btw. drummers like to hang with musicians :P

I have more crashes than the previous version and there are some wierd things that happen when I edit notes in the piano roll, but nothing too serious. I was more excited about the "bug" that made the dx10 free!

FL 5 is definately more buggy than 4.5. It crashes every night over here Usually when I'm closing a project (Thank God!).

I also get a big blast of sound when opening some projects. Too bad really it WAS almost photoshop stable. It's a pity they sacrificed stablity for bells and whistles or god knows what else I'm not using.

Not that I'm switching hosts real soon but I cannot stand buggy software and FL has become just that. Its irritating.

BTW auto scrolling used to drive me crazy, now not having it on automaticly drives me nuts. I wish they would let us turn it of or on as a program preference.

That's pretty interesting. Could you please elaborate on what you might do with a sample and what parameters might be involved in the sampler channel.

Fine then, if it's a rude joke I like it! :D

Wondering what plugs you use generally; haven't noticed any bugs so far (except one).

Re: One- you can turn on/off auto-scrolling. There's an icon for it and also a preferences setting, and its working pretty good for me...

But there's still a lot of bugs... FL5 crashed for me and i had to reinstall it to get it working again.

FL5 has been awesome on my end. Right after I first installed 5.0 I was hired to do my first "professional" audio project (okay I was helping a friend who got hired by MTV). I put FL5 through its paces on several songs from start to finish, working for about 8 hours non-stop every night for over a week. All this on a brand new Athlon 64 system I had just built days earlier... I was a bit nervous something would go wrong. FL was rock solid and never crashed once. I noticed a couple of extremely minor problems... like a shortcut not working or whatever, but they've been fixed in 5.0.1.

i dont understand what bugs FL5 has, i havent had any problems and i use it extensively.

FL5 crashes when I try to load it into Live 4 as a VST. Actually, the whole damn computer crashes :x

Well, you're rite. I would add:

-Automation clips, instead of 'hidden' edit events graphic paintings, for any controllable parameter;
-Advanced time stretching;
-FPC, a great sampler for writing down drum lines, without adding lot of samples (in this case, there's a brand new functionality in piano roll, called 'view ghost tracks');
-Not that less important, ability to manage mp3 file format as samples.
-Improved live recording (loop recording/overdub);
-Wave Shaper new plugin (Graph based distortion with supersampling);
-more and more new features.

Enough? :)

...but not when I load it up in Tracktion... so I gues the problem must be with Live 4. Oh Sh*@ - not ANOTHER problem with Live 4 :bang:

I've got the sonic synth2 and sampletank 2 that are my main plugs I also like the plugsound free, bionic delay, spin audio m1 & Kublik. None of these particular plugs act up when I'm using them though which leads me to believe FL is the culprit behind FL crashing. In fact she crashes when I'm starting her up about once every 15 times. Perhaps the new FL does not like my sound card or driver. Its an Audigy and they ship FL lite bundled with the card so you'd think that they would test it with that card.

I work as a graphic artist and I'm on the computer all day long, have been for years. After a while you can feel a program. like I said FL studio WAS rock solid on my machine with basically the same plugs. Now it works but It's shaky it FEELS shaky. Not the worst I've had to do work on by along shot but definitely far short of FL 4.5 as far as stability goes.

If anyone else uses the same plugs and they are having trouble maybe one of them is the cause.

I'm going to look for that icon to turn auto scrolling on and off. I am aware that it is on one of the menus and I do turn it on there but that is a pain in the ass and it turns it self off for no reason that I can tell right after i leave the piano roll to do something else. Buggy.
