Is there any news on new Elektron and Roland products for 2025?
Regarding Roland:
A new TR8S?
A standalone Spark?
An analog drum machine?
And what about Elektron?
A new Syntakt and/or a new major update?
A new Hybrid module and/or a new all-analog or all-digital module?
A new module combining the Rythm MK2 and the Analog Four MK2, all-analog?
What do you think?

I think once November starts rolling around (holiday shopping period), you'll see some product announcements. Not before. A new MPC is coming for sure. Roland is always releasing new things, like that new digital hand pan that runs zen-core. I hope we get a full fledged hardware zen synth and editor as it's what I wish the sh-4d was. MC-707 and Jupiter-Xm seems to have the best zen patch editing experience that's not a huge fantom keyboard.
Elektron is elektron. They're dropping bread crumb updates like finally adding sample slicing to Digitakt after many years. Don't expect much from them... the real innovation is at Ableton with Ableton Move. That's what I would be on the lookout for cause they are releasing updates every month. Only interesting thing from Elektron was that Tonverk leak, so if there was something new, it'd probably be that.
Also, you need to give up your dreams of Elektron doing any sort of combination device. They don't allow themselves to compete with their own devices. They will never let you synthesize, sample, and perform on the same synth - or least not in a meaningful way. Their goal is to get you to buy multiple devices. They have done nothing to prove otherwise.
Behringer is working on an analog drum synth that they teased in a video Simmons SDS-3, who knows when it'll be released. Earlier this year, Behringer said they could probably make a E-MU SP-1200 for under $500 but that is far off from release. I am excited for that. And also all the new flagship Behringer synths they showed off this year. Prob won't be released this year though.
I really really hope Roland releases something! I hope it's not some touchscreen laden huge monstrosity.

I am curious to see what will happen with the Future of the ACB HW synth line now that the System 8 has been silently discontinued.Trancer wrote: Tue Aug 05, 2025 7:10 pm Is there any news on new Elektron and Roland products for 2025?

Will they release a new one or will everything new that has to do with ACB be Roland cloud exclusive now?
I also wonder if we will see a new Analog boutique to Replace the SE-02 that has also been silently Discontinued.

Roland did start releasing the ACB Models for the Fantom. And they are still selling the boutiques which use ACB. I'd love a more compact System-8 kind of thing shaped like an SH-4D with zen core as well. I want to have everything Roland ever did in one single device/groovebox that doesn't rely on using touchscreens or computers.D-Fusion wrote: Wed Aug 20, 2025 3:48 pm I am curious to see what will happen with the Future of the ACB HW synth line now that the System 8 has been silently discontinued.

And I don't think the SE-02 will be replaced. Roland doesn't do analog synths anymore and it was Studio Electronics that designed the SE-02. The only other analog stuff they have is System-500 (Malekko) and JDXI/JDXA. The quote was "We don’t chase ghosts."

Well, no I don't. The Rytm MKI only played samples. But the MKII samples. So it seems legitimate to say it does all 3. In what way do you disagree?
I miss the days of Dataline Elektron demos. I like his aesthetic! Thanks for the reminder from the past!

Yeah, the RYTM mk2 was my first thought as well - it does all three, and quite well IMO.pdxindy wrote: Wed Aug 20, 2025 4:32 pmWell, no I don't. The Rytm MKI only played samples. But the MKII samples. So it seems legitimate to say it does all 3. In what way do you disagree?

Maybe I should give it a try... it's the only Elektron product I haven't tried yet. I was originally put off by the 8/12 voices with hardwired choking and unresponsive playing pads. I was more of an Analog Four kind of guy. But, nowadays, I find it hard to justify a Rytm for myself since I got the Ableton Move which is improving month by month with very nice updates. Since I've got the Move, I have made more sketches in the last few months than the last few years. And now their Note app is also getting a full synth editing experience. I got a feeling they are gonna bring it over to the Move!pdxindy wrote: Wed Aug 20, 2025 4:32 pm Well, no I don't. The Rytm MKI only played samples. But the MKII samples. I know it was a Roland and studio electronics team work.
What i don't get is that they said that it was just the beginning of that type of the analog series Boutiques and then everything went silent so I don't have any hopes on anything new there either but you never know what ideas they will come up with next.
A ACB synth combined with The Zen core tech would be awesome in a SH-4D format or in a System 1M format with patch posibilities or a Keyboard version that looks as great as the Jupiter X with the same build quality.
They did listen when it came to the Ju-06 crowd that wanted it re-released again and the JU-06a was born that included 2 Juno's in one so i hope they will listen when it comes to a System 8 replacement made based on people wishes and vision for the new version since i see alot of people asking for similar thing for a new one
We never know what Roland will do since Roland will always be Roland and maybe they now are thinking about visit the past and see their digital offerings completed so they will start to release analog synths again.

Thank you for your answers and opinions.
Regarding the Mpc, a version like the mpc x, but more powerful with a larger screen and with an HDMI socket to carry it on a large screen, that would be really great.
Roland has a very special philosophy regarding these products and not always clear.
Why not make it possible to use Galaxias as a vst without a subscription, it should be possible.
All the Roland concentrate usable in vst all in one.
Just that, it would be really great.
Possible with the purchase, without having to necessarily go through the Roland Cloud, a completely autonomous version, but in vst.
Regarding Elektron, I suspect, he cannot infringe on his high-end products.
Who knows, the Tonverk.
The surprise might come from Berhinger, but indeed more announcements than concrete ones.
In new hardware Roland, however, not at all certain that revolutionary innovations.
New drum machine can be, a Jp8080 version 2.0 on vitamin?
The System 8 in version 2 who knows?
Unfortunately for the SE-02, it was most certainly a cooperation only for this model.
What would be cool on the other hand as a Roland product, it would be a rack to host its catalog, in this way we could connect what we want like keyboard, controllers.
The price would already be more reasonable, since there is no version with an original keyboard.

Since MPC was brought up, it's worth noting that NI released a major update for Maschine+ yesterday. One would assume there will be a Maschine+ 2 coming.

Thank you for your reply.
If NI releases a new Maschine 2+, it would really need a much more powerful model and a larger screen for better readability.
The screen is even larger than the new Kontrol MK3.
A Maschine that could support a good number of tracks and effects, and could also run multiple instances of Kontakt 8, Massive X, and the Play series, would be really interesting, and even more so the ability to use less demanding third-party VSTs.
A true standalone Maschine, worthy of the name.

Agreed. Third-party VSTs is the main thing.
