Studio One 7.2

For folks looking for hardware integration, I can humbly suggest Nektar controllers. Studio One integration has been a big deal for us since Studio One v1.
We develop our own scripts (they are confirmed to be working with Studio One 7.2) which include mapping for Studio One's instruments and effects and since we have an installer, our scripts often work in older versions of Studio One. Our Impact LXmk3 series even has Komplete Kontrol integration (parameter control, patch, page and device navigation) which works in Studio One.

It would have been more smooth if StudioOne perpetual was one product and the rest addons on subscription.jamcat wrote: Thu Aug 21, 2025 6:23 pm
What we learned is this is how the new quasi-subscription service will work. It was acting as though my update privileges had expired and I had a new version of Studio One installed that wasn’t covered by my license. The key is the message I was getting, that “The License has not been issued for this application version!”
What is disturbing to me is that apparently PreSounus can pull the rug out from under a valid perpetual license remotely with just a server hiccup. Their system needs to be far more robust so valid licenses aren’t subject to false deactivation so easily.
- so two different licenses
- instead of keeping having one license that is partly perpetual and partly expiring
Anyway, that is how I read your problem.
I still miss what their thinking is for newcomers and a rather high entrance fee.

I like alliteration. Where did you notice alliteration being used?Sonic Illusions wrote: Thu Aug 21, 2025 6:48 am Not on 'its own'. It's AI. As you can see. And it uses nice alliterations. Cherry on top!

I bought update when S1 7 came out. They promised 4 major updates a year. Where are they? My license expires soon(tnx presonus for one year upgrades).

Er....I'm on v6 and I've just been told that it's been de-activated for my computer (even though it's still showing as an activation on mypresonus).
And it won't activate now.
Hopefully like the jamcat and others it will sort itself out but this is. Not. Good.

This is what i don't like with software that requires online Authorization and subscriptions.jamcat wrote: Wed Aug 20, 2025 9:02 pm It finally activated.
The thing is though, I have a perpetual license, so it should never ever be able to become deactivated under any circumstance. So Fender can just arbitrarily deactivate my software and prevent it from opening. I do not like what I've discovered today.
You are basicly a paying hostage When Something can be shut down because of a server failure or because they want you to upgrade to the latest version in the future if the sales starts to go down.

In about 1.5 months it will be 1 year since the release of version 7 with the announcement of 3-4 major feature updates. Guess it will be only 2 mid updates instead. I wonder how many will renew their perpetual for $150 this time.

I think we have seen two updates as of yet. They have to release 2 "major" updates in 3 months.Serhii Kot wrote: Fri Aug 22, 2025 9:16 am I bought update when S1 7 came out. They promised 4 major updates a year. Where are they? My license expires soon(tnx presonus for one year upgrades).

I don't think we can add Komplete Kontrol for older controllers. I don't have the details about that, but I was told that we can only add NKS compatibility to new controllers.Digivolt wrote: Fri Aug 22, 2025 11:06 amAny chance of getting this for Panorama T series and when will we see the CS12 for Studio One ?justin3am wrote: Thu Aug 21, 2025 11:20 pm Our Impact LXmk3 series even has Komplete Kontrol integration (parameter control, patch, page and device navigation) which works in Studio One.
CS12 integration is definitely coming for Studio One. I can't say anything that hasn't already been officially announced but we would like to have at least two more DAWs supported by the end of the year and Studio One is a high priority.

Yes!
I finally got the Linux version of S1 Artist V6 working on Mint.
It just will not activate:
Offline activation just returns a useless 'something went wrong' type of message box.
Online activation, with the valid license key returns a message informing me that 'Your demo has now expired.'
I raised a support ticket (with screenshots) and their response was to tell me to try what I'd already done again.
With no success.
What a mess.
Well done Fender you've managed to enshitify what was a good product.
Oh well, Reaper works perfectly on LInux without any drama, oh and Toneboosters have now released beta versions of their plugins for Linux, which also work well.

Studio One told me my license was not active on my computer. But I was just using it last night, and I haven't deactivated it recently.
When I try to activate it, I get a pop-up saying "The License has not been issued for this application version!" even though my Studio One Pro 7 license is valid until the end of the year.
My assumption is either the license server is down, orthey're tweaking the backend right now.

Long time happy T6 user here. Totally agree it's by far the best intergration with S1 so far. I picked one up when they first landed and it's been solid. I had a firmware issue around V5 I think it was and the guys at Nektar were great. They hashed it out and sent me a beta firmware that worked pre release of the update release. What's not to like about that kind of support.justin3am wrote: Thu Aug 21, 2025 11:20 pm For folks looking for hardware integration, I can humbly suggest Nektar controllers. I really like the NI keyboards and the Arturia but as I have been a big fan of using S1 the Nektar was the best fit to date. It suffers from the sticky controllers after a good few years like many synths or controllers do with that rubbery coating but overall I can't really complain. It never fails to work.

That's why I think intiatives like the Stop Killing Games thing that is going on in the EU should also extend to Stop Killing Software in general as well. Its not just games that are going to be affected if/when the developer decides to move on to something else. NI is the poster child for this imo. You can't even activate some of their older software anymore despite it installing perfectly fine. That should never happen imo. If the software is no longer supported, fine, but not being able to to install it or use it all is a major issue considering we paid for this. NI could have thrown one last patch that removed the need for an activation server or something, but they couldn't be bothered.jamcat wrote: Wed Aug 20, 2025 9:02 pm It finally activated.

Do not forget to count v7.0.0 as 1 of the 4 releases.
So that's 3 so far - and as long as there is one more release before Oct 9 - which there will be - then the promise of 4 "major" releases has been delivered.
That said - "major" in the S1 world here in 2025 - appears to be any release that is NOT a maintenance release and that contains anything "new". Regardless of it's value, actual attractiveness or need.
Clearly Presonus has it's meaning and I have mine.

Yeah, they just release some basic instruments and call it a major update.
What's next? A major update that releases new metronome sounds?
Only major update was 7.0.0 to me. 7.1 and 7.2 look like a minor update.
