is this a next generation of the Phuturetone one or a rip off? - it looks almost identical (except the price and it claims to have a Mac version) - no demo though
Apparently Mac version needs Rosetta - what a surprise!

Never heard of this developer before, no demo, only one sound example, no reviews and price of 130 eur. Big red flag.aMUSEd wrote: Sat Aug 23, 2025 1:34 pmis this a next generation of the Phuturetone one or a rip off? - it looks almost identical (except the price and it claims to have a Mac version) - no demo though

this comparison is probably accurate on some level.
He even has an envelope follower (if you tie a peice of string to the envelope first).dayjob wrote: Sat Aug 23, 2025 4:28 pmthis comparison is probably accurate on some level.
I wonder if you had self awareness what you'd think of a sentence like this.HAL76 wrote: Mon Aug 25, 2025 7:40 pm...and everything processed with the SFB sounds analog in the non-digital sense.
And I wonder if you have ever had the joy to really work with the FSB. Nothing digital will ever sound that way, it´s not even desired to.zerocrossing wrote: Tue Aug 26, 2025 5:55 amI wonder if you had self awareness what you'd think of a sentence like this.HAL76 wrote: Mon Aug 25, 2025 7:40 pm...and everything processed with the SFB sounds analog in the non-digital sense.
No, I do not spy for the Russians, and I take offense to the suggestion that I would, however, the Sherman Filterbank isn't any more complex than many other analog effects that have been modeled to a high degree of accuracy. Tube saturation has been modeled to a very high precision. Analog filters have been modeled to a very high precision. There's no reason that a SFB couldn't be modeled. It just hasn't yet. Maybe it never will, but that's probably due to it being a pretty neich piece of gear, than something technologically blocking it.HAL76 wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 7:03 pmAnd I wonder if you have ever had the joy to really work with the FSB. Its quite a challenge. But, you can do it!Audiority wrote: Thu Aug 28, 2025 7:38 am I got one sitting here for a while and, yes, that's a beast to tame and understand.. even before you might want to try emulating it. That's not your usual SVF design and there are no schematics around, so good luck![]()
