They did that 20 years ago , it was called reaktor session
I had no idea. It was an entirely different world and industry back then, though.

This is a heads-up for anyone who is interested in the MONTAG-E ensemble for Reaktor 6.5 and up. This fascinating granular instrument from the brilliant mind of Antonia Blanca, is on sale for $27.33 on his website, which is a 50% discount.

No codes are required, and this is definitely an interesting take on granular that's worth exploring if you have Reaktor. Check it out: https://antblanca.com/en-usd/pages/montag-e

While you're there, you can also download a free Reaktor ensemble called HAG-E: https://antblanca.com/products/hag-e Here's a partial quote describing what it does: "It was designed to function as an auxiliary modulator for MONTAG-E and DRON-E instruments, but its outputs can also be connected to Reaktor Blocks."

I'm tempted.. thanks for the heads up. Anybody got some good audio examples of what this thing is capable of?

Right on, I hope that you find it to be useful. It’s taken me some trial and error to understand how each feature actually works. There’s four granular playheads that can operate on a single sample, and each one can also have its own audio output for further processing.

The ensemble has a randomness system that lets you generate different variations on your sound, or completely new sounds. It’s a convenient way to quickly create a folder of interesting audio files that can be used as is, or loaded up into a synth like Pigments 6, Current 2, Phase Plant, etc.

I can’t remember the name of the control at the moment, but there’s a way to convert playhead positions into modulation information that can be applied to the pan position, the volume, pitch, etc. It can be used for creating whoosh and pass-by sounds, and some rather extreme vocal manipulations too.

Have a fun time exploring!! :tu:
