It's definitely pretty cool, but yeah, Sequential did it with the Prophet VS and I honestly think that "vector synthesis" sounded cooler than "wave blending." A lot of plugins have some sort of x-y pad where various parameters can be assigned, such as oscillator volume. You can do it in Omnisphere, for instance.Fannon wrote: Sat May 17, 2025 3:52 pmSpitfire31 wrote: Sat May 17, 2025 10:57 am https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vector_synthesis
Then, download the demo of Arturia's VS-V, an excellent emu of the first vector synth, the Sequential Prophet VS. Play with the virtual joystick and note the display of the programmed movements between the four selected waveforms!
/JHSOk, sounds like a fancy term for something rather simple. Except you have those mentioned "programmed movements" or maybe physics based movements? It sounded like this is what some KORG synths do with the touchpad?zerocrossing wrote: Sat May 17, 2025 3:21 pm Vector synthesis is a fancy term for the ability to mix multiple oscillator sources in a dynamic way. You can absolutely do this in Zebra 2, but they've added a way to make it easier and streamline the process.

This is great news to me, I bought Zebra HZ in order to guarantee a place at the feeding trough for Zebra 3, (in case I'm broke when it comes outUrs wrote: Fri May 16, 2025 11:38 am The whole point of Zebra Legacy is to keep it alive for as long as we possibly can. As in, as long as we exist or so. One fine day we'll support Windows/Linux on Arm, and if Apple ever moves back to PowerPC (not likely, but...), we'll move it, too.
Knowing Zebra HZ is in a truly unique position as Zebra with Diva filters, that will not be in Z3 according to you as stated in the video above, it makes more sense that newer users aren't getting an upgrade price to Z3 now, since HZ is a unique deviant from the Zebra line.

Is there currently any way to join the alpha testing?

Really waiting this synth. Simple in love with Zebra 2. But this one probably will be released in the end of this year...

This new video from Protoculture shows some of the power in Zebralette 3's oscillators and included editing tools. I especially like the digital, yet organic-sounding plucks after the 19 minute mark. I found this one slightly frustrating because throughout the video, we're rarely given an opportunity to actually listen to the sounds that he's programming without narration. And he quickly moves onto something else once he has something really interesting. But I don't make videos myself, so I can only offer my opinion. If you have the time and patience, the tips are still worth checking out.

I LOVE *exactly* that plucky stuff.morphex wrote: Mon Aug 25, 2025 2:32 am This new video from Protoculture shows some of the power in Zebralette 3's oscillators and included editing tools. I especially like the digital, yet organic-sounding plucks after the 19 minute mark.
make somebody some dedicated Soundsets for ZL3 please
(and Zebra3 when its out).
few "Good" Sounds, rather than 200.
Only one soundfamily (plucks for me) rather than to fill up EVERYTHING with these CRAP edm sounds and ever repeating -ever samish- "Ambient" sounds. ( the market is already full with "ambient sounds" )
i rather just want to buy 3 sounds, or 5, or 10 and pay you said 20 or 30.- bucks for those, rather than be forced to dig thru 200 sounds of crap.....and buy another 200,....and another 200,....just to find everything to be quasi plain crap.
[/ userfeedback @soundpreset sellers
edit: Thanks for posting the Video. It might be from help for me.
ZL3 was crashing on my system in GP whne i had the editor open. Seems good now after the update. i might start a fresh attempt to dig in......(but i hate dealing with sound creation in SW land)
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

Anybody here on the beta? I'm curious how in depth the options for triggering are. Having envelopes etc triggered from other envelopes which are in turn triggered by lfos which are being controlled by more aftertouch is the kind of thing I'd love to see paired with the U-he DSP.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

By your stupid, silly nonsense, even the most honest person with the most honest intention of sharing an experience, with the intention of teaching someone how to navigate a synth, is some sort of "attention whore" or something (you will now be splitting hairs, I know that in advance). Because that's the world we live in. I can say exactly the opposite and technically be every bit as right as you.Super Piano Hater 64 wrote: Mon Aug 25, 2025 5:30 pm"Attention economy" refers to socioeconomic conditions in which anything you can ever say to someone is competing with flashy clickbait. Your audience's attention is not the end goal. It's a limited resource they're forced to spend by interacting with you. This, in turn, limits how much time you can get them to spend on any one idea.xmstkvr wrote: Mon Aug 25, 2025 5:20 am The video is far from "generated only for attention" and is a very good informative video.
Content creators of all kinds are naturally incentivized to find ways to navigate this landscape, and in so doing, they pick up certain habits that they forget to put down again outside of the contexts where they're relevant. Those habits can be quite counterproductive. For example, my previous post totally failed to explain the concept of the "attention economy," so here I am now, writing a post to revisit the idea with a dramatically higher word count.
And I'm not saying the video is bad. I've watched part of it and he's doing a quite good job so far demonstrating what he's trying to explain. I was specifically answering "Is this normal?" with "Yes, it's normal, because this is the world we live in."
Your problem is simple. You hang with the wrong people, and your values are deteriorating toward destruction. Your interpretation of someone else's action is clear evidence. You are a tar and nothing else. A smudge.
The only thing you can really ask yourself is when and how this happened. Good luck with your life, you have a lot to deal with. Muted for life.

I don't think that user was being as combative as you may have interpreted it. The person who posted the video seemed unsatisfied with the pacing of it, and the person you engaged with was just saying (in my interpretation) that on today's internet, you have to keep things moving because people will trail off and go elsewhere if you don't keep them engaged.xmstkvr wrote: Mon Aug 25, 2025 6:16 pm By your stupid, silly nonsense, even the most honest person with the most honest intention of sharing an experience, with the intention of teaching someone how to navigate a synth, is some sort of "attention whore" or something (you will now be splitting hairs, I know that in advance). I watched the entire video and then decided to post it here, because I deeply respect Protoculture’s skills, and there are some really good tips that he shares.
@cake builder is correct, I was only being slightly critical due to the pacing. The information about the oscillators is still solid and worth the view.
I love videos about UFO’s and UAP’s. The frustration that I felt while watching this video was like the kind you feel when someone gets a decent UFO on video, but it’s too shaky, or too short to get a really good look at. You know there’s something cool to see, but it’s just out of frame, and leaves you wanting more. That’s all. It’s certainly not worth arguing about.

Context is key. You might be a smudge... one of thousands that make up a masterful painting.
