OD Finesse is a spectral processor that intelligently manages resonances with exceptional transparency and musical elegance. Three primary parameters provide intuitive control of the operation, each freely adjustable over frequency:
  • Depth adjusts the processing intensity, automatically reducing excessive resonances.
  • Timing defines how smoothly the process behaves.
  • Guard sets a protective layer that musically retains favourable spectral details.
Building on an advanced minimum phase filtering technique, Finesse offers detailed spectral control that doesn't interfere with the material's original transients and phase relationships. The unique ReTilt feature intelligently compensates for applied spectral changes to maintain the original tonal balance and perceived loudness. The processing is independent of input level, providing true “set & forget” functionality.

Introductory price is €119 until September 8 (€149 thereafter). DeEdger license owners receive an additional 20% discount. Finesse is available at the Tokyo Dawn Labs store:
https://www.tokyodawn.net/od-finesse/

The Demo version includes all features, but parameter settings are not saved within the project.

Big thanks to Fabien & Vlad at Tokyo Dawn Labs and to our beta testers for their support!

Interesting. Got me the demo...

You can see my name in the list above (cheers Jan !) and I'll simply say that Finesse has replaced Gullfoss, Soothe and SpecCraft here. I think it can be remarkably transparent and equally as fast to set. Top plugin really !

Sounds pretty smooth & musical so far. I understand the simplicity and more straight forward approach, yet from my workflow at least an output gain would make sense, maybe also a mix knob. But yeah, this works different for each of us. Good new plugin by TDR again, I would say. A little bit pricey imho, yet we can wait for later sales, if we want to.

There is an output gain slider on the bottom right. Or did you mean something different?

If the harmonics are overly loud, Finesse will tackle them too, yes.

Soothe is a little bit pricey. This one seems priced more reasonably given the sound quality.

Ah, the old TDR trick, I see. Makes sense now.

It's very much on par with Speccraft's broadband useability and power (as both can destroy a mix if pushed hard, I tried. :P), I still use Deedger a lot for fine tuning and small niggly resonances it's very much a secret weapon like plugin for me.

Will have to check this out, Deedger has been really helpful for taming vocal oddities.

Btw, DeEdger will get a redesign with new features in the first half of next year.
