Didn’t NI trademark the letter K?

This looks a bit reminiscent of iZotope’s Iris, but I’m always interested in anything from Dawsome.

LOL, they didn't. Even the German Telekom tried to "copyright" or similar the color magenta. Didn't succeed.
And if they succeeded, that would have been Krass. ;-)

Taking another look at that video, it strikes me that a really simple map being scanned by more complex paths, offers a lot more interesting opportunity for modulating that path than just scanning a more complex wavetable linearly. I'm getting even more excited just thinking about it.

I had a Starling Via Scanner (Eurorack module) for a while, which used a kind of topographical map like this instead of wavetables. But it was kind of a wonky and unintuitive design. Part of that was, Via was kind of a generic platform for multiple different experimental concepts, some of which were really clever, but the interface overall wasn't very well tailored to any of them... a good idea that didn't have the best execution. Part of it was simply that some concepts really work better with a nice big screen to show you WTF is going on... which seems to be really well done here.

Yes it does but that's an awesome thing. Iris would pull out chunks out of a sample but still treat that chunk as a sample

This looks like it takes chunks out of a sample and turns those chunks into a Wavetable. That would be cool

I have experimented with something similar by using Iris to grab a chunk out of a sample, then sampling that as a WAV file, and then turning that into a Wavetable and it's really cool but a giant pain in the arse

Having a plugin do that as a one stop shop is incredible

Ha, I see what you did there... clever. No doubt there will an Abyss of endless sounds to explore. Peter’s skills are no Myth, they’re the real deal, and I’m thrilled that he’s bringing even more of his innovations to the forefront.

Even the UI is a feast for the eyes. The synth engine is going to sound amazing, or he wouldn’t release it. That announcement puts me in a really good mood! Now comes the wait, which is everyone’s favorite part right? :hyper:

Dawesomes cool, gotta buy during intro sale, at least the synths rarely get lower than that.
