Windows 11. Tracktion 13.5 Pro.
I've run into this problem a couple times.
So, I have a session that I saved from last night.
On track 1, I have an audio clip that has a Volume automation on it.
I add a plugin (Analog Obsession Atone) and start making adjustments the plugin . . . when I start messing one of the knobs for, say, attack on the compressor, it moves my Volume automation line up and down, and now calls/names itself an Atone Attack automation.
Now, every function I use in that plugin takes over the automation and moves it around and names itself to that function.
Tracktion 13.5 - strange automation behavior

Does this help?:
I would guess you have it either set to the new Touch or (also new) Latch mode....

Happened to me too, drove me nuts. Turns out I’d left it in Latch so every knob twist overwrote whatever lane was armed. Check the mode first thing, saves a lot of headaches.
