So I am unable to create a phrase and edit it further with scripting?
Sigh

Still no parameter automation directly within a phrase (particularly the RMC method one can do within a pattern).
Sigh

Still no follow player position in the phrase editor.
Sigh

When a phrase or a script loop is focused, the space bar should be used to play the phrase/loop. Basic.
Sigh

Speaking of script loops, the play cursor should be visible on every pass of the playing loop as opposed to just the first pass. Basic.
Sigh

Oh and one more thing...........sigh

Just bought redux. Not sure how to describe it, but it has an almost hardware/90s sampler vibe. Superb, inspiring instrument.

Having started with an Amiga 500 and "Bars and Pipes"
Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time.

I was more of a music X guy but my Dad had bars & pipes.

Good times.

Today my Human Slot Machine was in full action during my town's annual Potato Festival, but prior to the event, for an added touch of realism, and variety, I wanted the slot machine's mechanical arm/lever to trigger multiple sounds (in round-robin fashion using Soundplant and a QWERTY keyboard), appropriate for what I imagined/hoped might come across (to most participants) as an agreeably slot-machine-like experience, or at least reflective of the spinning arm motions of the slot machine people (prior to them each displaying one of 5 potato-related items).

So, this morning I tasked myself with rapidly making (I gave myself an hour) multiple audio recordings of Chromophone 3 instruments, played with arpeggios that started off extremely fast and slowed down to a stop (in roughly 6-8 seconds).

The combo of Renoise's new phrase scripting, and being able to automate the BPM with an envelope made the task of making multiple, varied, but thematically related recordings fast, and fun.

For what it's worth.

For added context, I’d gotten myself stressed-out about the matter, and that was my little “Renoise saved my ass” story.

Medenka wrote: Sun Jul 13, 2025 7:22 am For me, such a missing feature, and showstopper, is that patterns in the pattern sequencer have to be of the same length, those that sit on the same 'line' in the pattern sequencer.
I didn't know it's like that, but it's maybe because the pasting could either delete the rest or leave it? I guess only deleting the rest of the rows in the pattern makes sense. Because, changing notes and being restricted to the first X notes when doing so, doesn't seem like a function I need.

And by enabling what you suggested, the user could paste triggers of long notes or samples.

I think I might have misunderstood the issue. I'm currently using Renoise 1.9 because of the looks. :help: <- hehe

FYI, I've put a pack of phrase scripts made during the alpha/beta testing period of Renoise 3.5 here;

Mostly experimental and made for the sake of testing/learning, but could be useful to abuse? :)

Renoise 3.5.2 is out.

Because taktik deleted my translated versions of Renoise tools because he deemed translated tools -off-topic-, I have moved them to my GitHub free-music-by-eatme.

I have developed on 17 + 2 beta games by EatMe as tool for in Renoise menu Tools...
https://github.com/free-music-by-eatme/xrnx-other-renoise-tools
- Memory - find sets of 2 images by turning around 2 image cards a turn
- ColorCode - find the 5 pin color code, with white pin = correct, red pin = incorrect spot, color correct.
- BackGammon - or trictrac - a classic board game (very graphical)
- Guess the Puppy - guess the animal shown by clicking one of three top images
- BeeHaven - a new designed game with arrows to place as route for bees over flower to hive
- PawnThrowing - a new designed game with flags to reach with a dice on a chessboard
- PartyPlore up to level 2 map 3 - a RPG still unfinished (more levels needed)
- Wordle (EN/ESP/PT) and Lingo (NL) - guess the five letter word in five attempts
- Duckieboard - a very mean 2 player board game
- Dearest - random animal race
- PumpDream - place pipe tiles on a grid to close all pipes to each end and run the pump.
- Sim1 - still bugs, City Builder of Babylon
- Connect Four and Four Connect - make 4 in a row for 2 players
- StarGame - make 3 in a row with stars of the same color or the same number (1 to 3) by placing random stars each turn.
- BoardGame - the first experimental 2 player board game with dice.
