STEPIC - is there any other Sequencers which might give you something more? Riffer?

Polyllop is just a port from the M4L device, it's interesting that they didn't try to do something with the other part of that series, Peach. Peach is kind of a sick arpeggiator.

SideRack is now working, I just had to use an official Apple cable. The possibilities for this seem really amazing but the only AUv3's I own, Dialekt and Riffer, are too small when loaded inside of NovoNotes' iPhone app. It's definitely better suited for iPad users.Uncle E wrote: Mon Aug 25, 2025 9:13 pm I found something called NovoNotes SideRack that seems like a dream. Basically, it's supposed to use your iPhone or iPad as a plugin, including MIDI FX. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get it to work with Studio One or Luna, although I'd still recommend giving it a try because it has an MPE MIDI controller built-in that DOES work:

One thing I didn't count on with SideRack is the latency. It's pretty much unusable except at the lowest buffer and multiplier. With my DAW set to 32 and SideRack's multiplier set to 1, there's still a little latency but it's fine for anything other than drums. We'll see how that goes once I start using it with larger projects.
Also, Riffer saves with the project but Dialekt does not.

Do you mean you wished Serum 2's sequencer came in an AUv3 format in order to insert out into the MIDI FX slot of a Channel Strip? Honestly, I could not care less. It's not all that special, if you ask me. There are so, so many sequencers and tools (including Logic Pro's own Step Sequencer and Arpeggiator combo) that do what it does and more (and many of them are already mentioned on this thread).buffalo roam wrote: Sun Aug 24, 2025 9:02 pmThank you! You're right. I admit I'm being lazy. I'll dig into this. But still, instead of paying for the full price of Serum 2 (which I haven't done yet), wouldn't it be nice to have its clip (sequencer)/Arp combo available as a separate (maybe less expensive) plugin?oobesan wrote: Sat Aug 23, 2025 7:01 pmIt's pretty easy to route the MIDI from one Instrument track into another in Logic Pro since version 11 came out (check up the Internal MIDI In option in the Region Inspector)buffalo roam wrote: Tue Aug 19, 2025 1:38 amAnd hear...what? At least in Logic, you can't double load synths in the same channel, and Serum 2 won't go in the midi fx slot. If you can route the midi out from one channel to another that has a different synth, well then you may have something. But what a PITA. The real need is for a sequencer/arp that does what Serum 2 can do, apart from Serum 2.

I find comments like this puzzling. Of course, I have no reason to care that you "could not care less" about having Serum 2's "clip" sequencer/arp combo as a separate plugin. What's interesting is that you felt compelled to say it. Whatever. I disagree that other sequencers and arps on the market measure up to what Serum 2 has to offer. And I do care about that.oobesan wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 5:41 amDo you mean you wished Serum 2's sequencer came in an AUv3 format in order to insert out into the MIDI FX slot of a Channel Strip? You can use Serum 2's sequencers and arps in Element. Setting it up took me 20 seconds. I appreciate your position on this (a MIDI FX version would be awesome!) but Element really does solve the issue.buffalo roam wrote: Thu Aug 28, 2025 1:45 am I find comments like this puzzling. Strange licensing in Element... old non-cutting-edge version can be used free, but you have to get a license to be able to use the latest up-to-date version?buffalo roam wrote: Thu Aug 28, 2025 4:27 pmThanks! Yes, correct. FWIW, I'm using a very old version, not even the current free version, and it's working fine.mabian wrote: Thu Aug 28, 2025 4:51 pm Strange licensing in Element... old non-cutting-edge version can be used free, but you have to get a license to be able to use the latest up-to-date version?

I'm happy to report that this loads directly into Luna.StartMenu wrote: Sun Aug 24, 2025 9:33 pm If you're on Mac the Mac App Store has the StepPolyArp AUv3 v5.0.3 which is a real-time polyphonic amd polyrhythmic MIDI step arpeggiator and step sequencer. Here's a link to it https://apps.apple.com/us/app/steppolyarp/id1361313588 It has all the features you could ever possibly want in a sequencer/arp.

Maybe Xferecords could develop an extended arp/seq VST3/AU/AUv3/CLAP version of Serum 2's arp & sequencer with customer requested features added. Cthulhu is currently available from Xfer maybe Cthulhu 2 with Serum 2 stuff?

It's a great idea but Serum is his big seller. I don't think he'd benefit much from adding features to his other products. Besides, Serum 2 is working great for this.

Man I was excited to try Element since it looks like a vst version of FL Patcher. Unfortunately it crashes for me if I click the gear icon on any module.Uncle E wrote: Thu Aug 28, 2025 5:44 pmYes, correct. If Element crashes try other similar modular VST's that can host VST's:
