Death Adder wrote:I was so damn used to FL4.
It had some limitation, but with a clever use of it one could avoid this limitations.
I know FL5 is much more flexible, but I just can't get in touch with it.
Besides, it's full of annoying bugs.

My question is: is there something I can do with 5 and cannot do with 4?
Are you serious???

Perfect point...! This sort of update FOR FREE is the exact reason I can't understand how people can complain. Other companies will charge you $300 to fix BUGS that were THEIR FAULT in the first place.

Get real people...think about what IL is giving you before opening your mouth. :uhuhuh:

atomic_afro wrote:To answer Death Adder's original question. Yes, there are some cool things that can be done with version 5 that 4 couldn't do. The most obvious being the improved audio engine, now with all sorts of cool parameters for the audio track and sampler generators. For those who are into sound design/sample manipulation, FL Studio is now a premiere tool for warping simple samples into complex evolving soundscapes and bizarre drum hits. Take the standard set of drum sounds, and alter the stretch parameters. Along with pogo, fade in/out, and the normalize function, the stretch facilities in 5 can change the sound in ways that most samplers, especially those devoted to drums, cannot.

ATA
That's pretty interesting. Could you please elaborate on what you might do with a sample and what parameters might be involved in the sampler channel.
I plan on putting together a tutorial about maximizing FLStudio's drum sample warping features in a few weeks. Stay tuned!

not acuseing anyone of being warez kiddies but imo people who complain about bugs over and over in an otherwise very stable program arent using the latest version...

I have to agree.
The mixer is the worst part of FLS to me.

Faders that go from 0% to 125% is not very practical- db's are more common.

The audio section needs track numbers.

It needs 24bit recording- yes I said it and I know Gol hates this...32bit gives you extra headroom but you sacrifice valuable HD space. I know HD's a cheap, but I'm broke.

The FLS Wrapper that want resize is worst than the mixer. Try using Ozone in FLS on a 15inch LCD. Change the resolution you say. I say no thanks. I want to end you blind like some of my favorite Classical composers.

God bless you FLS users. I have seen the light and it looks like Sonar 4PE!

If memory serves, 24 bit recordings are stored as 32 bit files on hard disk no matter which program you use.

My 24 bit files say 24 bit when I click on properties. My OS is XP.

I am definitely looking forward to this!

Yeah, FLC isn't up to those two, but it does a nice job all the same. Just curious here, have you tried Corpse Thrower's HUGE FPC KIT OF DEATH! A very nice 4xmulti sampled Tama kit, it shows FLC at it's best :D You get the samples so it's easy enough to create your own DR008/Battery kit. Just do a search for it in the Looptalk forum, well worth the effort imo.
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

Now with the envelopes, I've found sequencer nirvana. I even sold my copy of SX. Aint that something?

P.S. My FL Instalation is rock solid. No crashes whatsoever. I'm on WinXP SP2.

The page of information showing the audio file's bit depth in the Properties page concerns the contents of the file, not the manner in which it is stored.
