I love the workflow in XO and honestly never cared that much for the sequencer. I only want it to be on par with Triaz and that would be great. I am eagerly awaiting Revolution Native though. Has the chance to become the best virtual drum machine out there.
I am waiting for 2.0 though. For $40 it definitely punches above its' weight class and the cloud is the best compared to any other options on the market.

Provide a way to add surgical subtractive EQ between each sample and the FX and bus processing. More EQ options in general.
Trying to tone down a resonance from a single percussion element while simultaneously keeping XO's bus processing is a huge hassle. Best solution may be to just not use XO's bus processing. Otherwise I have to either apply the EQ to the whole bus or try to apply it in the right amount to the sample, render it, have XO rescan and refresh the folder, hope XO will actually let me select the file and not bug out (as it's doing now, not loading the samples when I click on them in the space), then play it back to hear if it's close enough. Another option being dynamic EQ or targeted resonance suppression on the bus, or automated EQ notch on the bus where the resonance becomes an issue.
Now I wish I hadn't bought XO packs, I hate the limitations and the bugginess of this software.

I can't recall coming across any significant bugs. Can you tell us what problems you've been having?Ou_Tis wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 11:36 am .... I hate the limitations and the bugginess of this software.

I've not experienced that. And I do have a pretty large sample collection (>100k).
Have you contacted the XLN support? They are usually pretty responsive.

Guess there's no way to nudge individual hits (but not every hit for that lane) off grid by a specific inside the sequencer, aside from selecting a premade "groove" and hoping it's what you want? Is there a way to edit the "grooves"?
When XLN calls an XOpak "off-the-grid funky" (Memory Card description) does that mean it has custom off-grid "grooves" or does it just use the ones that come with it?
Another way would be to edit the sample (outside XO) to add space-time at the beginning, like maybe a 64th note relative to the intended tempo, and then fine-tune the off-grid nudge in XO.

I might be missing something simple here, but is it not possible to randomise the midi patterns of layers? Like how do you bring in more than the 7 patterns each kit loads with?

I Still use XO because its sample searching and categorisation is better than atlas.SLiC wrote: Sat Aug 23, 2025 7:21 pm Yup- its been a very long time and a lot of people switched over to Atlas 2 already.
I think the sequencers in both Atlas and Xo are pretty barebones.
The sequencer in Playbeat 4 is great.
