I don't think the new features would be worth it for self-producers who can go back to the original file. But I could see the utility for mastering engineers who don't have that luxury.
Not worth the cost to me. The only things iZotope I use these days is Tonal Balance Control and on rare occasion Imager on vocals to help increase the M/S side information. I never use the full Ozone interface and have no interest in the AI aspect.

My only "regret" regarding plugins is buying some izotope plugins. Even at 50 euros for Neutron 3 Standard was a mistake in the end. The distortion module aliases like hell. Neutron 4 added some oversampling but the upgrade prices are insane, so I just don't use them anymore, it's a waste of money. Also, they never fixed the the infuriating spacebar stealing in the DAW. Their GUI are slow, not resizable, and they want customers to pay hundreds of euros for the annual upgrades.

Does Ozone 12 have the same problems as Ozone 11 when you set the screen scaling in Windows to 125%? Ozone 10 works perfectly still, despite being the older product. With Ozone 11, some important buttons in the top bar are no longer accessible. The higher screen scale mixes up the UI. I can't use Ozone 11 anymore because of that. I had even contacted Izotope, and got told that this is normal. No it is not my friends. This is lousy development. A bug. And lousy customer support not to fix it.
Not that it would really be important. Ozone 11 mixed my songs badly anyways. Too bright, too loud, too shrill. A single mush with the only goal to be as loud as possible. This 0.micro headroom at the maximizer defaults is epic. Ozone 10 gives me the better result any time, with fewer work. And from what i can read Ozone 12 continues the direction of Ozone 11. Sad.

The update prices are simply unacceptable. And since iZotope releases paid updates almost every year, we're basically talking about a subscription here. A very, very expensive subscription...

on a mac... anyway, i master my own work, and mixes for others; so for my needs, the $199 upgrade fee is fine, already covered by an upcoming project. also, this is a set of tools; you can use the presets to get started, but need to, at least, fine-tune the results. no one should wind up with a master that is "too bright, too loud, too shrill"...Tiles wrote: Thu Sep 04, 2025 6:27 am Does Ozone 12 have the same problems as Ozone 11 when you set the screen scaling in Windows to 125%? The price point is fast becoming ridiculous, even for upgrades and especially now with things like Faster Master that basically almost does everything Ozone can do. (for $60)

Just to prevent misunderstandings, I talk about the defaults. Not about that i am not able to get a result with the modules of it. Ozone 11 defaults simply sucks. They are made with noobs in mind that wants the songs as loud as possible, not as good sounding as possbile. Equal to the Bandlab online mixing. Louder = better. Who cares about dynamics.
Of course you need to do fine tuning. But the starting point in Ozone 11 gives me too much work to do. It is too far away from useful. Ozone 10 works simply better for me.
And as told, i am in trouble with the UI of Ozone 11. I don't want to waste yet another buck at a software that i cannot use then.

So far, so KVR.
We have, to my knowledge, a completely new tool in unlimiter. And a new faster workflow with SplitEQ. It gets shrugged off with a meh and then endless posts complaining about the pricing, how the company is what it used to be.
We'll be on to venture capitalism soon.
It's not for me personally at this price, but I'm glad to see they are actually doing something new again. Think this is a step in the right direction.

A step in the right direction would be for them to stop screwing over loyal customers. Their pricing and bundling methods are a joke and only serve to squeeze you like a lemon. I'm glad to read I'm not the only one boycotting this company.

If this - or literally anything - doesn't offer value for money for you, don't buy it. Why is everything a crusade here these days?
