I bought it yesterday on sale and must admit that this is one of the coolest (Kontakt-) Instruments I have ever owned.

Great concept, awesome sample library, drag & drop and great presets (snapshots).

And a great loop player, not only for field recording. I bought numerous bundles on sale over the last 2 decades, and most of them always came with some loop packs and/or so-called “Construction Kits”. I was never a big fan of the latter ones, but in conjunction with this six slot loop player it's so easy to audition them, and it's really inspiring.

Edit: what’s awesome is that as long as your loops are tightly timed you can play them no matter how many bars they have. E.g. a 4 bar drum loop, a 16 bar instrument loop and a 128 bar vocal loop play perfectly together as long as they have the same bpm.

The only thing I encountered was that some of the snapshots had some disabled slots that didn’t play after enabling them. But I haven’t nailed it down yet if that was an user error, an instrument issue or a Kontakt issue.

Edit 2: ok, you are already aware of that issue as you wrote on page 2. I will let you know if I have found something.

Great job. :)

Thanks so much for grabbing this and the nice words, inspiring to hear :)

Regarding the odd snapshots issue, I have just shown my friends in the Kontakt team exactly your message in this thread, maybe that will be a bit of a kick in the behind for them to take a look. Meanwhile, the similarly odd trick of first loading any other instrument in the Kontakt instance and then replacing it with Dystopia Diary, should work around it.

I assume you grabbed it via NI's NKS Shop sale? If you'd like, drop us an email and we'll offer you an upgrade to the Rusted Signal Bundle which gives you thousands of extra relevant samples to drop on the layers.

Happy soundscaping! :borg:

Hi,

No I bought the whole bundle on Pluginomat. :)

Feels a little bit like a betrayal getting so much stuff for so little money.

Ahh amazing yes, that's an even better value, awesome so you got the full over the top thing :borg:

There will be some additional updates to Dystopia, we've collected some sounds, and there are some specific presets we want to do that showcase a few more things.

That is a pretty cool thing from our side about this instrument - updating it is such a fun process, it is almost hard to go too wrong heh.

Can you stay awake, Alan?
The Rusted Signal Bundle was built from the echoes of fractured futures and the whispers of forgotten transmissions. It’s a complete toolkit for crafting vast, dystopian atmospheres, haunted soundscapes, and the chilling sounds of a world coming undone. With its core of "Dystopia Diary" and 20 curated sample packs, you can weave narratives from AI echoes, corrupted radio signals, and synthetic prophecies.

Grab it here on sale for 89% off 31.13 until November 2 - Happy Halloween!:
