For those interested, the video was shot in our family room and in our back patio and pool. The indoor footage and some of the outdoor footage was shot with two Nikon Z6s each paired with an Atomos Ninja V screen/recorder, with one setup on a DJI Ronin SC gimbal and the other on a SmallRig cage assembly. The indoor footage was lit by two Godox Litemons LA300R RGB LED monolights with reflectors blasting through the window from outside, and a Godox SL60IIBI bi-color LED monolight attached to a large softbox to light the interior. I also used my fog machine to add some haze to the room and, hopefully, accentuate the light rays coming through the window. Outdoor aerial footage was shot with a DJI Mavic Air 3 drone and the underwater footage was shot with a DJI Osmo Action Pro 5.
All footage was shot in 10-bit N-Log (Nikon) or D-Log (DJI) in 4K. Underwater video was shot at 60p to allow for smooth slo-mo. The entire video was assembled, edited, and color-graded in Davinci Resolve Studio 19. I also added some light ray effects to some of the living room footage in post because the fog machine didn't really give me the sunray effect I wanted.
Finally, the video features my good friend Breeona Cox. Breeona is a model and actress that I've known and worked with as a photographer for about 8 years now. She recently moved from Sacramento to LA because she spends so much time down there for freelance work, but she was home for the Labor Day weekend and we spent the day shooting this video then drinking in the pool because it was 104F that day!
