I had hoped there would have been re-write of the filters etc, I would think that after how many years (I got V2 in 2005???) that it would be due for a sound engine overhaul.

I think I'll pass, shame I used it alot back in the day because I just love those old PPG sounds.

Seems to be the same mess as largo 2 update.
Normally I update nearly everything. Sometimes I wait until update or upgrade is on sale, but in that case, I stay with v1 -

The page for this product is really confusing. It pretty much restates the same two sentences over and over as you scroll down.

Compare that with the page for the Microwave plugin https://waldorfmusic.com/microwave/ and it's like a different world. The Microwave plugin page is short and to the point, and describes what's unique about it and why it was made.

I personally don't see the point in making a ui resizable if it's just going to be a blurry mess, if users want that experience they can just use the magnify accessibility tools built into the OS, if you're going to make your plugin for the modern display, put the effort in and vectorise it, how is it going to look when we're all on 16k displays in 20 years time and they're still just using the "magnify" trick to resize it from 720p days ? :hihi:

The update costs more than I spent on PPG Wave 3.V originally.
I'll wait for a significant discount. I can wait a long time since I never use it anyways.

THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

I don’t usually say this, but this REALLY should’ve been a free update. So strange they put all this work into new features, but it’s still a horribly outdated piece of software.

V3 was THE re-write, MANY years ago.

Wavetable import AND editor can't be a free update.

Use a smaller monitor, 15-17 inches is OK.

You guys are

Same. This really discourages me from buying their software. I still only have the last version of Largo before the “update”. I probably won’t be upgrading this either.

I've been so disappointed with waldorf in the past that I'll try the demo before attempting to open my bank vault.

I really don't get these guys. Largo 2 was/IS still a mess. No updates/fixes in 2 years. Support tickets ignored. But they knock the Microwave 1 out of the ballpark. Now they release this half-assed "update". I just don't get what's going on over there.

My guess is that the different products are handled mostly independently by different people, working under different conditions and with different amounts of time to dedicate to their Waldorf projects.

Just a guess, though, but I think I read somewhere that's sort of how Waldorf works? Am I hallucinating a memory?

All they did was port that from the Microwave Plugin. I already own that and the V3 plugin. This absolutely should be a free update

But the reality is this whole V3 is obsolete even with the update because the Microwave Plugin blows it away for vintage "PPG Wave" Sounds

Slow loading preset banks. I still like/love the sound. Can we rely on them to listen to their customers and update accordingly? I don't think so. I'd get the upgarde if I had any confidence in Waldorf.

I was expecting resizable UI like Microwave.

Poor implementation of scaling, and no polyphonic aftertouch makes it a pass for me. That's all I really wanted. I can bring those wavetables into any number of synths and get all the wavetable editing and whatnot that I could ever want. Maybe someone will be happy with this update, but it's a huge disappointment to me.
