That´s not exactly what i said.minuit-am wrote: Mon Sep 08, 2025 8:28 am About the sound character being dependent on the sample yeah you're exactly right -
Of course is the sample selection a main determing factor.
i was pointing towards the modulation !
The way you create the movement, that´s then "past the first point" what will determine your sound.
Thanks for the link. I had a look. The info is still not sufficient enough vs. what i´d liked to see. But i could extrapolate some things from there. So i have now my set of info in that sense down.
The soundengine core is a good idea. That has potential !
The modulation situation has alots of potential for further growth i´d say.

Sorry, maybe a very simple question, but: is there a way to make the plug in window bigger. It's tiny on my 4k, and dragging the edge does not work in Logic. I also did not see any option for 150 or 200 %?

Ah! Something we are meaning to get in, but none of us have a 4k screen for testing.tq wrote: Tue Sep 09, 2025 12:11 am Sorry, maybe a very simple question, but: is there a way to make the plug in window bigger. if I did a test build with scaling drop down would you be willing to try it out, and perhaps do a screenshot or two?
Resizeable AU as well will get fixed along with it.

Ah I see what you mean - yeah, it's all about movement and ways of moving on the map.Funky40 wrote: Mon Sep 08, 2025 6:10 pmThat´s not exactly what i said.minuit-am wrote: Mon Sep 08, 2025 8:28 am About the sound character being dependent on the sample yeah you're exactly right -

Classic granulators like Granulator II or Quanta only let you move linearly through the waveform. Here you can move anywhere on the map. The key advantage is creating Paths that smoothly skip transients/onsets between notes - something that would require programming jumps or manual control in a regular granulator.
I'll make some videos to better demo this - a 2 min overview, then detailed ones on the playhead modes. Thanks for the feedback!

That´d be helpful. A good idea for sureminuit-am wrote: Tue Sep 09, 2025 8:08 am I'll make some videos to better demo this - a 2 min overview, then detailed ones on the playhead modes. Thanks for the feedback!
I´d personally not compare it to Quanta or Granulator.minuit-am wrote: Tue Sep 09, 2025 8:08 am Classic granulators like Granulator II or Quanta only let you move linearly through the waveform. Here you can move anywhere on the map.
Bring on some more Videos. Some, focusing on specific aspects of it.
RAW and dirty, that´s fine for most of us. ( just avoid distortion vs. the recording process).
It´d be much appreciated.
I like that. make a video where you can show us that. Maybe one sample set, but different pathes of the movement. ....you know better.minuit-am wrote: Tue Sep 09, 2025 8:08 am The key advantage is creating Paths that smoothly skip transients/onsets between notes - ........
i prefer so far exactly that approach. But i compare this more with my Wavetable VCO work.minuit-am wrote: Tue Sep 09, 2025 8:08 am ........ - something that would require programming jumps or manual control in a regular granulator.
with your synth, i see a self created movement path ( you have that !)
But on top of it a way to control the speed of that movement.
on top of that, a A-B crossfader between two speed-"lines", or even quad with an X-Y access to it.
A clever speed control will be key in my opinion. It will help define the rhytmic aspect of such "moving sound".
Such synth-voice is not only sound, it IS rhytm as well
hope you´ll find time to manage to create some more -raw and dirty- videos. ( really, just raw and dirty ! just: say it @the intro that it´s just that

Yes, I do have a wide screen and a 4k. Can test it for sure.minuit-am wrote: Tue Sep 09, 2025 7:58 amAh! Any synths declaring utilisation of spectral synthesis ARE TO BE AVOIDED and only to be used by me and a couple of other VERY SPECIAL users.
the demo of sweeping back and forth through a banjo file sounds veeery interesting. I can't see any obvious modulation possibilities of, for example, the read head? That would be decent.

hmm, i just listened to a YT-video in another thread (other synth), and i just had the same crackling.
So i think the crackling i heard here in the YT audio demos was NOT og solstice sound, BUT my PC working unproperly ?
Can somebody cornfirm please. Do you hear cracklings in the audio/YT demos ? ( not talking the distortion, but some crackles )
If Not. Then please take my apologies. It´s my system ( i run some host to host audiorouting, also for firefox/YT/multimedia).

I only hear glitchy goodness. Yes, some rough cuts when it moves to different sections, but I wouldn't describe it as crackling or anything unexpected.

ok ! Thanks for feedback !
I need to become aware of "that possibility".....that it could be my system.
apologys !

Hehe fair play - yeah the youtube demos I wasn't aware of at all "Solstice Synthesizer by Minuit (No Talking)" - someone else put that together, and very quickly - fairly good expo there

I've been enjoying messing around with this. It's perfect for MPE. I'd love to be able to travel around the X and Y axis per note with pitch bend and slide. Are there any plans for deeper MPE implementation?
