Sounds great. Love those 90's VAs.
I saw earlier in the thread that it was meant to emulate not just the JP-8080 but also others like Virus, even juno-106? For the non-j-8000/8080 stuff, what exactly is emulated? Waveforms? Filters? Envelopes?
The dual filter right away gives virus like capabilities, but wondering about sound elements.
Too bad it's reaktor as it means no scaling. Is it really that hard in this day and age to offer scaling for modular/customizable software like reaktor?

Jasper & Bradley can chime in, but here are some SPECIFIC choices that are mentioned in the manual or were discussed on our Slack!

* The J106 oscillator is based on the Juno-106
* The Hoover and Alpha oscillators are based on the Alpha Juno
* The Phase oscillator is based on the Nord Modular G2
* A number of oscillators are based on the Korg Radias
* The PERC amp envelope toggle is based on the Nord Wave 2 'Transient Attack' envelope mode
* The Filter FM feature is based on the Arturia PolyBrute
* The Chro-MP filter is based on the Korg Mono/Poly and PolySix
* Many of the waveshapers/drives are based on the Access Virus

Wish we could rename the thread but OP got banned...

In Reaktor's case, it is, because the codebase is extremely legacy. The underlying UI toolkit has no clue about HiDPI and what a logical pixel is.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Sep 11, 2025 1:58 amToo bad it's reaktor as it means no scaling. Now, NI does have a hybrid Qt/legacy UI translation layer but this would at most give you blurry upscales.
That said, we went for a bit larger UI size than most Reaktor Player ensembles, knobs are decently sized and text is not 8 px tall.

Yeah but you can still make the graphics used relatively high quality and larger than the average ensemble - just look at the Phuturetone ensembles:Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Sep 11, 2025 1:58 am

So I'd hope this has a usable size of GUI for most people

Just for everyone's reference, Chro-Nyx GUI size is 1280x720 px (without Reaktor's header that has the A/B page controls).

The video is auto-translated by Youtube's AI. The result is a bad monoish sound. Not a great idea for an audio plugin ad. Youtube probably has an option enabled without uploaders realizing.EvilDragon wrote: Wed Sep 10, 2025 11:31 pm Huh, which video? The one posted above? Nothing AI in that one.

I don't think we have any control over that, this might be region specific? Could be a user side option? Dunno, first time I hear of this.

It happens without being logged into Youtube (i don't have a YT account). The exact same thing happend to another dev a few days ago (i can't remember who that was). They somehow disabled or reuploaded it.

Ugh, we definitely did NOT enable this feature, it was opted-in by default. I just turned it off.mi-os wrote: Thu Sep 11, 2025 10:35 amThe video is auto-translated by Youtube's AI. NI said they were planning to make some Reaktor ens into plugins - wonder if this is a possibility?

We don't know yet. I sure hope so.

More sound demos would be great. I'm unsure about it at the moment.
It doesn't sound bad to me, but it's - until now - nothing I really need.
