Update to the latest version.
Thanks. I had checked RCM before and didn’t see an update. I had to hit the refresh button, then it showed me version 1.1.1 is available.

Does the update fix anything else besides the typo?

Roland was well known in the 70s/80s for the worst manuals. And they became very aware of it early on.

As far as discussing this anymore with ibird appears a complete waste of time. Which many members here have come to the same conclusion.

That bird might consider getting a hobby or appropriate 12 Step program that can help break him out of this?

Maybe just practice his instruments more and forum focus less. At least learn to see the humor in posts that incorporate it.

My only real focus for Roland now is a lamenting of what made them great and how they're just a double speak leech to avoid now. I probably should just let go of any hope they might return as a company of worth.

I sure won't waste more time on these bird monologues.

I bought a lifetime key for Zenology Pro a little while back and currently have the P4L Pro subscription.
I’m planning to stop the subscription in December and I’m trying to work out what I’ll be left with..and also to understand the different pack types.

What I think is;
Zenology Pro ships with PRST_A to PRST_L and those will remain after the subscription lapses.

The rest are not included in Pro and have to be purchased separately, those are:
EXZ wave expansions have additional waveforms not included in PRST_A to PRST_L
ZDZ Zenology sound packs are presets that use waveforms included in PRST_A to PRST_L
???ZEZ Sound packs are the same as ZDZ packs, ie use included factory waveforms???

Then there are the Model expansions and their sound packs which have additional waveforms and different UIs.

Is that all correct?

That is all correct.

I have Zenology Pro and it does not come with the model expansions, EXZs, SDZs, or ZEZs.

Among the model expansions, the analog ones (SH, Jupiter, Juno) use things already in Zenology but limit and recalibrate the parameters (no new samples or waveforms, really). The JD800 is unique, though, including the JD800 waveforms and different effects.

Cloud was introduced in 2017 with an online requirement. Where is the support for offline usb ilok?

a naive question but, where are the factory samples of TR-909 ?

Post

Its not a sampler per se. Those sounds are embedded into the plugin as they were in the hardware and can't be swapped out. Most of the sounds are synthesized but the cymbals and hi hats are likely based on some sort of samples

I see..

I got a cloud sub as part of the offer where you get it for a year and get to keep two forever. I finally tried the Jupiter 8 last night and it is amazing. I have played a hardware J8 and the feel is really similar. I’m surprised there hasn’t been more talk about this plugin.

The filters are fantastic even at high resonance. Better than most others I’ve heard, including U-He synths. And I’m a U-He devotee.

Right now I’m leaning towards the SH-101 and Jupiter 8 as my forever picks.

I like the JP-8 a lot, too, and wound up choosing it, along with the JD-800, as my two licenses this year. I also like the ones from TAL and Arturia. I went with the D-50 and JX-3P last year.

I do love Tal. I use the Drum and Sampler a lot, and their filters are great, but I found their JP-8 a bit lacking. I feel like Roland’s is the first I’ve heard that gets close. Dare I say even closer than the ISE-NIN.

yeah, i couldn't find much to like about Tal JP8. Anyone download the recent sound packs from RC? I got some a few months ago but none of the FX were included and the packs sounded nothing like the demos online.

Post

Yet Tal JP-8 is proably my favourite software vintage analog emulation...
Different strokes for different folks.. I do have the roland one too and never use it, beyond maybe pulling up a patch on it and trying to emulate it on the tal JP-8.

I know this could be the wrong place to ask but is there an instrument thread about the new roland drum machine somewhere on the forums?
