Was that expensive? I thought they were only a couple hundred bucks (kit). Maybe he’s not making them anymore?
Yea ok nvm, price went up. Guess I wont be getting one of those anytime soon. Heh.

Yes, they've gone up. If we weren't in tariff hell I might have ordered the kit from Europe, but I can't risk what will happen a the moment so I had to get it assembled from the U.S. I do not like buying this kind of thing used, so it was new and just over $500 all in.pekbro wrote: Thu Sep 11, 2025 7:41 pm Was that expensive? I'm going to put it in the same skiff as my Misha, which was $400 and does less, so there's that. It's often hard to weigh the value proposition of something before having it in your hands. I have more than a few things that I regret paying for them because I thought that they would be worth more to me than they turn out to be. Sometimes the opposite happens, which is my initial take here. I'll forget about the price soon enough.

Nice, I have the keystep pro, and I sometimes which that I would have skipped it and just got the little brother. I find I more often want something small than to have all of the sequencer features. I do use some of the features, but not enough to justify the price, for me.thecontrolcentre wrote: Thu Sep 11, 2025 8:58 pm I just picke up another Keystep ... this one is for use with my Artemis (bought earlier this year).

Supposedly anyway.
It’s been a while tho so I may be wrong about the recommended skill lvl. Since I am actually old compared to you anyway and can’t remember shit. Heh

No, it is an easy build. A not so easy build is oneiroi. I looked at that and got tired watching it get built. I still have some unbuilt Befaco kits because they're a bit tedious.vurt wrote: Thu Sep 11, 2025 10:36 pmim assuming that's not an easy build? say beginner with bad eyes and shaky hands?ghettosynth wrote: Thu Sep 11, 2025 8:46 pmYes, they've gone up. Somebody brought a Plinky to an LA Synth club meetup recently. It was a lot of fun. At first I was like "oh this thing is doing four much!!" but when I played with it, it felt pretty intuitive.

Exactly, that's where I was. I took one look at that panel and though, no way. I think that it was a video of the cinematic guy that convinced me that I was wrong.justin3am wrote: Thu Sep 11, 2025 11:46 pm Somebody brought a Plinky to an LA Synth club meetup recently.
