similar situation to what im in. im currrently in the 2 month trial. i bought the cubase 14 pro upgrade in the sale but not used it yet. im hoping that 15 will be announced soon and going by previous years its usually out around november. Then i will redeem the code in november when the trial has finished. although i bet this year theyll do it different knowing my luck lolgwing wrote: Wed Sep 03, 2025 11:11 am Starting today, Steinberg have a 40% sale. I could get a cross-grade offer for Cubase 14 Pro for just £179 ($240). As I am in the middle of a 2 month trial, this offer is very tempting.
I am also aware that Cubase 15 could be arriving in early November and I guess I'd want to upgrade to this version (perhaps not straightaway)
I'd be happy with Cubase Artist but that doesn't offer a cross-grade option![]()
Does anybody have a purchasing strategy with respect to getting the best deal please ?

My only concern with waiting for v15 is in Steinberg upping their minimum system requirements and their new way of killing anything not meeting it.
And I still wait for their 50%+ off sales.

Worse case scenario, you'd end up with the Cubase Pro 14 upgrade you originally paid for if for some reason they change their policy from prior years. Either way, you'll find out soon enough.djb13 wrote: Mon Sep 29, 2025 4:28 pm similar situation to what im in. im currrently in the 2 month trial. i bought the cubase 14 pro upgrade in the sale but not used it yet. im hoping that 15 will be announced soon and going by previous years its usually out around november. the current sale is the best itll be this year. it ends tomorrow i think so if youre considering buying it then now is the time...BBFG# wrote: Mon Sep 29, 2025 4:58 pm My only concern with waiting for v15 is in Steinberg upping their minimum system requirements and their new way of killing anything not meeting it.

i cant see the minimum requirement being much more that V14. the current minimum is a 2013 gen 5 intel i5 so even if they upped it quite a bit you should still be able to run it on most systems that are under 10 years old.

I meant the minimum for OS. What's to stop them from declaring the new one for Win11 and disabling Win10 completely.djb13 wrote: Mon Sep 29, 2025 7:51 pmthe current sale is the best itll be this year. it ends tomorrow i think so if youre considering buying it then now is the time...BBFG# wrote: Mon Sep 29, 2025 4:58 pm My only concern with waiting for v15 is in Steinberg upping their minimum system requirements and their new way of killing anything not meeting it.

As far as sales, we still have Black Friday this year.

ah i see what you mean. seems unlikely theyll force a win11 minimum since theres still such a huge win10 userbase. theyll be cutting out millions of potential customers. but who knows..BBFG# wrote: Mon Sep 29, 2025 8:51 pmI meant the minimum for OS. historically i dont think cubase is in the black friday sale since the new version is usually released around then. thats why they have the sale now.
