without derailing the thread, i know that the 1176 trackcomp model requires -30% Q bias to be inline with what one would usually expect if i remember right.
What was the tuning for the LA-2A ?

Will give IPA-25 a spin after all the praise although i usually only keep one of each plugin emulations and i already have UAD and Trackcomp. Did Pulsar sent out any additional discounts per email ? (newsletter, returning-customers or whatnot) i havent received anything this time.
I didn't get anything

as much as i like pulsar, i just ended up getting trackcomp2 which i have no clue why i slept on.
won't be getting IPA in the foreseeable future unfortunately, although there's nothing wrong with it

Developer hype and online hype is too much. Steeping backwards is good and taking the time. After the deserve desire stresses goes down a bit, we all have you find they are not better than your own compressors, most have many that do job greatly and reality no difference on mix. Only fear you missing real analog experience for $100+. I became calm slower and wise now.

for key components i just ended up replacing plugins with the hardware or top notch hardware replicas to end myself getting distracted or fussing about :) it can also end up being cheaper, especially if you calculate the time spent (unless its a hobby to endlessly compare different comps and eqs)
Decisions create art. Options create anxiety.

This is really impressive.

I think the selling point here is an exceptionally good model of the 2500 with a ton of tonal variety.

The 2500 is one of the most solid compressors ever built but can sound a little vanilla. Adding the VCA output saturation really gives it some extra mojo and makes it super versatile. The sidechain eq can really alter the behaviour dramatically. You can take it even further with the clipper/limiter section which you can route pre como, pre mix and post mix. So many options and tones.

And it's all wrapped up in a particularly nice UI with some fantastic metering. Very very nice all around.
