Yes, 26. It's version 26 because next year is 2026.

Did anybody upgrade to macOS 26 Tahoe already?
If you plan on purchasing your first Universal Audio hardware, you can get a free additional plugin. Just send a PM.

Nope. New release with largish design changes, buggy issues, and apps which will need work to render properly means for a change this big, I won’t even think about it for some months while watching how bugs and compatibility issues shake out.

I did update my phone - it’s Ok I guess, I don’t love it.

Not sure why you posted this in Instruments though…

In iOS on my phone I hate liquid glass. In accessibility settings for display text size if you turn on “reduce transparency” it’s much better ui experience

No way I’ll put the ne macOS on my laptop for 6-12 months.

Yeah it's fine, same shit different day. Been running it since this weekend, didn't hit any roadblocks with Cubase Pro 14 or any of my plugins, gear, apps, etc so far. Even my old ass Emagic AMT8 still works as it always has.

Post

been running it since developer beta 1, and currently (on the official release), all is well. liquid glass took me a week to get use to, now it's just background. am running logic pro, and all my 3rd-party plugins work, and life goes on

all of my apps work, and have thru the beta cycle (atho one was buggy, but found a workaround. as of now tho, it's no longer buggy).

some 3rd-party 'tweaks' (like bartender), need to be updated for the new OS. but overall, it's been a relatively smooth ride.. and the new OS is fast, stable (& personally, i like the GUI).

EDIT: you can check sites like the macrumors forums to see what apps work (or don't).

What’s your config hardware wise and what software and plugins are you running?

I’ve seen one person comment having unrecognized ADAT inputs on their hardware interface system, plus needing to manually add and rename inputs in their DAW.

I’m gonna wait until hardware companies start saying they’re compatible with Tahoe.

That's good to hear. Somehow I thought the OS-level GUI changes would screw with all the custom UIs third party VST makers love. Thanks for the reassurance :)

happy to help, but bear in mind, my observations are based on my specific plugins and workflow. definitely check with developers about their plugins. also, companies saying 'tahoe is not yet supported' doesn't necessarily mean those plugins don't, in fact, work in tahoe.

it's a minefield I MEAN adventure, always :D

Cheers! I'm on an M1 iMac but for the rest a very similar config as yourself software wise. I am a bit fearful of macOS26 actually making my system feel heavier and slower to use. Going by how each newer OS is larger and requires better hardware to run smoothly.

I mostly wait out the first 6 months to sometimes a full year after a new OS release. So all the kinks have been ironed out but mostly so that software devs have caught up.

MacBook Pro M3 Mac OS 26 Logic Pro (latest version, whatever it is): Native Instruments, Steinberg's Halion and other synth plugins, Phase Plant, and Soundpaint all work fine. Of course, Logic Pro damned well better work as an Apple product (and it does). So, so far, so good.

Im not a Logic Pro user anymore so I don't have that invincible feeling I used to during the betas but I still check and look for your posts in particular to see how it's going hah.
