That's an absolute bargain. If I didn't already have it I'd snap it up, no brainer

To be honest, I didn't really know that UAD were still going, let alone that they were doing VSTs. I associate them with computer expansion cards from 25 years ago.
Just out of interest, what are the other two? My faves for sound quality are probably Korg's Arp2600 and, even though I don't really have much use for it, Softube's Model 77. GForce's SEM is also right up there, and PolyMax probably deserves to be in that cohort, too.I'd say it's in the top three best sounding VSTs.

Just curious if anyone thinks Anthem has "better" fundamental sound quality than say Repro or Model 72 or MassiveX? If so, what's more pleasing to you about it?
I'm just wondering why people are so chuffed.

Repro is tighter sounding. Doesn't sound as big, which is completely understandable because a Pro One is not a particularly big sounding synth. Plus, they're not really comparable when Anthem has that great sounding sub oscillator.

What the other two are is actually a bit tricky. We've had quite a lot of good synths.BONES wrote: Sun Sep 21, 2025 5:56 amJust out of interest, what are the other two? At a push I'd say Massive X and Phosycon 2.
But there are many other AAA synths these days, the other UADs, Legend HZ, Repro, Diva for some things.
It's ridiculous really how many good synths there are, if I was doing a list I'd have about 20 very good synths to name. The flagship synths are all pretty decent sounding as well as being hugely flexible.

The thing with the "flagship" synths, though, is that you really only need one of them. I have several but the only one I ever use is DS Thorn because it's the easiest to work with. You're right, though, there are plenty of VSTi out there these days with AAA sound quality. We're very lucky to be so spoiled for choice.

Everyone here was cynically predicting this would be $49 or even $29 within six months of release. Turns out these figures were waaay too high.
You can have it for $10 now if you want 10 of their plugs for $99 in their mixtape pro bundle. Other synths in the bundle include the MiniMoog, Opal and Polymax, there's over 50 keys and effects to choose from -https://www.uaudio.com/products/uad-mix-tape-pro-bundle
Yet again I'm tempted to bulk buy great sounding stuff I absolutely definitely don't need.

I’m holding out to see if they would throw in additional $25 coupon near the end of the deal. They’ve done that before so hopefully it would happen again. Otherwise I’ll see what they are planning for Black Friday. I have many of their stuff now and don’t want to spend $99 more. I want Anthem the most for now.noiseboyuk wrote: Tue Oct 14, 2025 6:20 am Everyone here was cynically predicting this would be $49 or even $29 within six months of release. Really loving Anthem. it can do some seriously good basses and leads. I'm finding it's not the easiest to sit in a mix though. I think it shines in minimal arrangements where the raw sound of the synth itself is the focus.

So you have to spend 99$ to have Anthem which is much higher than 29$ or 49$.noiseboyuk wrote: Tue Oct 14, 2025 6:20 am Everyone here was cynically predicting this would be $49 or even $29 within six months of release. Turns out these figures were waaay too high.

That's the stupid way to look at it, the way they want you to see it, but the reality is that if you want Anthem, you still have to give UAD $99.

It is possible to get Anthem plus one other plugin now for $74 using the sale on UAD custom choose 2 for $99 plus the STOCKINGSTUFFER25. If there is something else is on your list and available as a choice, then that makes $37 each. Ocean Way Deluxe is one of the available choices as is Luna Pro (not going that direction myself). So now the amount you have to give UAD is $74. I tested that this works. The Mixtape Pro bundle is an alternative, though it doesn’t include Ocean Way, which is the most attractive plugin to me that they make that I don’t own already. It *does* include many other plugins that I don’t license.

Still more than I'm willing to pay at this point. I can wait until it's $49 but thanks for the heads-up.
