when i registered, it did not unlock the additional amps/effects.
Has anyone else encountered that? do i need to do anything special to make them appear?
EDIT: ok, solved. for anyone else, it turns out I had to sign out once and then sign back in. suddenly i got a notice that the product was registered (which I did not receive when I created the account from WITHIN the app!) and the additional devices were then unlocked.

Free software from the people that paid full price for Studio One 7 and got nothing they promised.

Rudimentary is right. How can they compare it to Garage Band with no MIDI? I do like the visual simplicity and focus of the interface. If they could somehow maintain that while adding MIDI, time correction, and a couple other basic features -- good on 'em. Keep it simple.

All Fender did was TAKE from Presonus. They should have at least integrated the Fender plugins into Studio One. I own S1 Pro6 and quite a bit of Presonus hardware but, as it stands now, I'm done with Fender/Presonus. They've lost me.

i'm going to guess that they paid for it, rather than just TAKE it, but... whatever.CapnLockheed wrote: Sat Sep 27, 2025 7:54 pm All Fender did was TAKE from Presonus. and yeah, it needs work, but again, from a user point of view...its free (other than having to give your email to register).
so, at least for me, not a lot to complain about here.

That's your opinion and your entitled to it. As a long time customer of Presonus, I am not pleased with the current developments under the hedge fund which owns both Fender & Presonus. They pulled the plug on their own forum, their pricing structure and removal of Artist & Prime versions of S1 blows, and the features they tacked on to S1 v7 are all but useless to me. That's MY opinion and I am also entitled to it.

Just reviewed this for Macworld (not published yet). Of course it's an upsell app (it exports DAWproject), but at the very least it's a free amp sim and a pretty good one. FX are heard on input.
Studio is a bit of a misnomer other than its a subset of Studio One, and of course upsell. Seems to be the same engine.
The biggest misses for me (given it's simple nature) are the lack of loop recording (for getting that lead just right) and clip/file export. You can do the latter manually, but the files are buried deep, at least on macOS and iOS.
One thing I do love is the "Record" choice on the main screen. Choose it and the program pops up already recording. Great if you want to capture an idea or something in the wild without a lot of fuss.
I also quite like the interface as well. I wish you could customize S1 to something similar.
It's not Studio one, and if you're expecting that, you're bound to be disappointed. It's a gateway to that, and handy as far as it goes in my book.

Yes, it's handy. Yes, it's free. Yes, the Fender amp & stomp sims are nice. Yes, it works on my both my Android phone and iPad. But so does Amplitube which offers more models and integrates seamlessly with my iRig UA and iRigPro Duo interfaces. But no, it's not Studio One. And IMHO, it's not an upsell to Studio One as the Fender plugins are then lost. But....including the Fender amp & stomp sims into Studio One might have been a good incentive for S1 v6 owners to upgrade to v7 AND a reason for new Fender Studio users to make the leap to Studio One. That's really my only gripe. I believe that Fender/Presonus missed an opportunity to both attract new customers AND give loyal longtime customers another reason to stay on the upgrade path and that, I believe, would have generated more revenue than giving away a hobbled version of S1 with Fender plugins. But again, that's just my opinion....YMMV.

I'm guessing the Fender plug-ins might be in the near future. Okay, maybe gateway rather than upsell.
