Stephen Luscombe of Blancmange has died. His bandmate Neil Arthur confirmed his death. The pair shot to fame in the 1980s with hit singles Living on the Ceiling, Waves, Blind Vision, and Don't Tell Me.

During their successful career, they made three studio albums, Happy Families, Mange Tout, and Believe You Me.
The band called it quits in 1986 before reuniting in the 2000s and releasing a new album in 2011.
After this release, Stephen left the band due to his ill health.

Wow. Saw them a few times live in the 80s, , were really good. Still listen to them now.

I didn't know they had an album out 2011 - must give it a try.
Waves is still up there as one of my all-time favorite songs, probably top five. And I always liked Blancmange's humour, quite rare in pop music.

Why Don't They Leave Things Alone? That's another classic that is an anthem to anyone over the age of 40 from any generation, anytime, anywhere. Actually, it resonated with me in my 20s already. And Blancmange wrote it long before they were old farts. :hihi:

That's sad. Remember really liking their take on 'day before you came' for some reason, the melancholy I guess.

I was into metal when Living on the Ceiling came out, so couldn't admit that I liked it.
But I did.
I lost my heart in Cap de Creus
