Most of you probably know the IK group buy drill by now. Basically, you grab one qualifying IK product and then you can pick out more stuff of equal or lower value for free. How many freebies you get depends on how many people jump in — the bigger the crowd, the more gear everybody scores.
Right now it’s sitting at 11-for-1, and we’re less than 450 sign-ups away from hitting 12-for-1. There are still 43 days left on the clock, so plenty of time for it to grow. If you’ve been eyeing any IK plugins or software, this is usually the best time of year to stock up.

Has anyone else noticed that IK seems to have significantly changed the tier goals for the All-in Group Buy?
I was looking at the page yesterday, and I'm almost certain that the goal for 12 free products was 5,000 participants. Today, the site says you need 6,000 participants to reach that same tier.
Furthermore, the next tier jump (from 12 to 14 free) now requires another 1,500 participants (up to 7,500).
The most significant change is the final goal. Didn't it used to be around 15,000 participants to get the maximum number of freebies? Now it's listed as 40,000 participants!
Hmm.

intriguing. Yes, they changed it. They respected everything accumulated by the moment of the change (through 4500 participants) and increased the requirement to 1500 more participants to get 2 free from 500 more participants to get 2 free. That increased the total required to 40k people and tripled the distance to each reward.
It was:
All-in Group Buy Tiers
Buy 1 Get 8 Free* when 3,000 registrations are reached
Buy 1 Get 9 Free* when 3,500 registrations are reached
* Buy 1 Get 10 Free* when 4,000 registrations are reached
Buy 1 Get 11 Free* when 4,500 registrations are reached
Buy 1 Get 12 Free* when 5,000 registrations are reached
And so on, up to our goal of 15,000 participants, giving you up to 50 qualifying products for the price of 1!
It is now:
Buy 1 Get 9 Free* when 3,500 registrations are reached
Buy 1 Get 10 Free* when 4,000 registrations are reached
Buy 1 Get 11 Free* when 4,500 registrations are reached

This is extremely problematic, likely legally so. 4500 people made a purchase based on a bait and switch.
That sounds like the makings of a class action lawsuit.

Not if IK meets the goal. And according to Peter "failure is not an option"jamcat wrote: Fri Sep 26, 2025 6:12 pm This is extremely problematic, likely legally so. 4500 people made a purchase based on what has clearly turned out to be false and misleading claims.

That may remedy direct monetary damages, but not the “pain and suffering,” “mental anguish” and “undue stress” this has clearly inflicted upon the 4500+ victims. That will require an additional court-ordered payout in Jam Points.

The group buy is set to scale like it would have at 99.99+ without hardware, so with the new additions these tiers are just as likely to be achieved."
Still, I'd love for them to add MAX versions of the products and ReSing to the list of free-eligible redemptions. That would also encourage bigger purchases to gain access to bigger prizes.
