Saw it on Reddit. Sweetwater catalog, apparently.
Blueprinted with unprecedented potential, the Roland TR-1000 Rhythm Creator marries historic heat, analog presence, and digital precision into a polychromic powerhouse built on the masterfully re-created circuits of the legendary TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines.
Its hybrid architecture houses a trio of synth engines, bringing a prismatic palette of FM, PCM, and VA possibilities to the TR-1000's analog foundations, with ACB modeling supplying the coveted circuit-bent sonic of the 8X and 9X models. Over 2,500 onboard sounds join a wealth of digital and analog effects while the suite of classic-to-contemporary connectivity effortlessly integrates the TR-1000 into any arrangement.
Add in cutting-edge Morphing performance controls, next-gen TR-REC sequencing. true-stereo re/sampling, and an unbridled array of sonic contouring tools, and you've only scratche the surface of the TR-1000's kaleidoscopic capabilities - vintage heart, modern soul, and endless exploration waiting to be discovered by you.

Interesting, but still not 100% clear.
Do we assume analog foundations and masterful recreated circuits does mean analog circuity — and that ACB is one of the other hybrid engines?

I don't think so. I'm reading this...db3 wrote: Fri Sep 26, 2025 7:44 pm Interesting, but still not 100% clear.

...as saying that the "analog" side is ACB and the "hybrid" side is FM, PCM, and VA. In other words, we aren't going to tell you that it's not analog, but we're hoping that you're all too stupid to read. No warmup time or things getting out of tune as soon as you start recording and the ACB Tech is so close to the originals that it doesn't matter if it is Analog or Digital
This to me looks like a Luxury version of the MC-707 where they use the ACB Tech instead of the low cost Zen core Platform or maybe a mix of both.
The most important thing for me is what the street price will be and if it will offer me something that i don't already have since i am still very happy with my SH-4D and MC-101 combo and i do already own All the ACB and Zen core synths except for the Promars and i also have the ACB 707, 808 and 909 in the Roland cloud.

Yeah, I posted that before the screenshot showing the Song mode button. Glad to see they finally woke up and listened to their customers’ requests for it.

Would be fun to use song mode to have some structure, then turn on resampling, play it live with knobs and mess with the morph fader, and then do something more with the recording! I'd love to see some sample mangling/slicing stuff.

I don't really care what the technology is. That's all marketing, at this point. Does it sound good? Does it have features you can exploit? Those are the important questions, IMO. I wonder if they'll release a VST in conjunction with the hardware, like the System 8. If not, I'll pass. I'm not really a drum machine guy. I keep an RYTM, but I literally only use it as a synth engine. I'm not a fan of the workflow.cryophonik wrote: Fri Sep 26, 2025 7:55 pmI don't think so. RYTM isn't an acronym, it's the Swedish word for rhythm.

My head originally wanted to type out Analog RYTM, but then I got lazy, and so lazy I didn't bother to correct my article.
