Hi,
I found the sounds from the Glitch pedal from the Neural DSP Misha Mansoor very appealing.
What kind of granular plugins I can achieve a similar output?
Thanks!

There are quite a few good ones, but Output's Portal and Audio Damage's Other Desert Cities are two of my favorites.

Arturia Fragments, Lunacy Audio Beam would probably get you closest to the functionality.
Beam has a grain based effect and also an additional time module for glitch shuffling (it's an additional purpose)
Imaginando GRFX, sugarbytes graindad, inertia sound systems granulizer 2, unfiltered audio silo and Output portal are all good

While Granulizer 2 is certainly a very good one; seems abandoned now and with no way to reset any activation, if already used once. Tried to reach out to them for quite a while.martiu wrote: Thu Sep 25, 2025 10:06 am inertia sound systems granulizer 2 is granular sampler, not effect
Fragments is the best one for the money, the king is still Crusher X

I haven't used Granulizer in an age. So long that I forgot it was an instrument.
Fragments probably is the most flexible but Beam (particularly with the time module) is a real contender.
But you're right, nothing comes even close to Crusher-X in terms of overall featureset and depth.

Haven’t heard from him either but I saw a video featuring that part of the plugin and thought it sounded pretty good.pekbro wrote: Wed Sep 24, 2025 11:54 pm I gotta try the plugin to see what the sound is like, since I never heard of the guy ever.
I am intrigued tho, by the plugin. Nural doesn’t usually do it for me.

Definitely sounded pretty cool, the granular part didn’t sound typical of most granular stuff, more glitchy, as in maybe something from audio damage might work well. I didn’t really get apabloaldunate wrote: Thu Sep 25, 2025 7:25 pmHaven’t heard from him either but I saw a video featuring that part of the plugin and thought it sounded pretty good.pekbro wrote: Wed Sep 24, 2025 11:54 pm I gotta try the plugin to see what the sound is like, since I never heard of the guy ever.

good listen yet tho, so I can’t say for sure I was
hearing the granular output from the neural
sim. Quite interested to check it out, when I get
a chance.

It’s supposed to be a few emulated algos or takes inspiration from the Hologram Microcosm hardware pedal that Misha uses on his pedal board.

I have one of those as it happens, even more interested to check it now. Thxmetalifuxx wrote: Thu Sep 25, 2025 8:45 pm It’s supposed to be a few emulated algos or takes inspiration from the Hologram Microcosm hardware pedal that Misha uses on his pedal board.
Btw: imo you can’t really get too close to those
with the current round of granular plugins.
*Not because it’s better at granular, prob not actually, it’s just different.

It's almost worth buying this just for the glitch and laser effects. Glitch is probably the best hybrid guitar looper pedal I've encountered in software, it's not going to be easy to replicate with plugins. It's not a microcosm, but it's not too far off.
The closest plugin that I can think of (vs Glitch) would be halo effect from SoundBetter, though that's not particularly a precision-oriented effect.
*That guy probably uses a JAM pedals delay Llama Xtreme as the Glitch effect is pretty
similar to that at times as well. I have one of those too heh
Other plugins I might consider would be BEAM, Transit 2, Infiltrator, Shaper box 3 to name a few.
