Not a peep.
And no guarantees that it will even be a 7.3.
Every x.3 (historically) has been nothing to write home about.
Just noticed today as well that a x.3 only occurred with major historical release cycles with “odd” numbers.(3,5)
All major historical releases with an even number (2,4 and 6) hopped right past an x.3 and right up to x.5

I wouldn't be completely shocked if they released 7.5

I would, if they will charge for it.

I'm sure they'll release an update in time for the "buying" season but I'm just taking a "wait and see" attitude to it. I actually agree with both sides of the debate between jamcat and vocalpoint and don't think their general positions are mutually exclusive.
On the one hand, Presonus haven't introduced a single feature in v7 which is of any use to me but, on the other hand, I haven't paid to upgrade from v6 so it's saved me a lot of money. I am furious with Presonus for kicking their long-standing customers in the nuts and devaluing their hundreds/thousands of dollars of investment to almost nothing. But the fury dims with time and I'm not going to abandon Studio One on principle, I'm just waiting for them to introduce anything useful (and bug free) before moving off v6.

Didn't they say something about doing away with 'version' numbering per se, with this whole move into 'yearly' based releases.? It was in that announcement video last Oct.. I might have misunderstood...

It's really all just a matter of perspective. You either:
1) Buy the software or pay for the upgrade when you think it's worth it, and then you have a year of free updates to shield you from the tragedy of unknowingly upgrading just before a feature you would have wanted is added. In this case, a year is quite generous imo.
Or,
2) You pay for an upgrade that you don't think is worth it, gambling on the chance that they add a bunch of features over the next year that you might want.
I recommend not doing #2. Not only is it stressful and likely to result in disappointment, but it also might lead to the exact problem this system is meant to avoid; if a new feature you like is added just after a year from your purchase, you'll continue to feel unsatisfied with your purchase. So just buy upgrades when you think there's enough content to warrant the price instead of treating it like a preorder for a mystery product, and you'll be happier I think.

Just a guess but going off the way these lot focus on new customers it wouldn't surprise me if the next update is focused that way to lure people in or back to paying up for another 12 months. The problem with that is once you pay up your at the mercy of Presonus again to deliver. In 11 months time people could be saying here we are again, false promises or what ever else they don't like. Far better to under promise and over deliver if you ask me. That's were they went wrong here.
I don't know why anyone expected a major update from these lot just before the official release yearly contract was up to be honest. They havn't cared about Loyal customers sinse the days of Sphere subscriptions. You can only judge them on the previous track record or in this case the past 12 month and was it worth it to you. It's the exact reason I never bought into V7 after all the hoo haah and stuck with V6. Unless they pull a rabbit out the hat with the next major update I will be staying on V6 till they do.

They stated there won't be an official version 8 under the new naming and update system. That doesn't rule out a version 8 ofc, they can't keep future updates on 7 indefinitely. It will run over at some stage, I'm guessing in 2-3 years from V7's release date. They focused on the new product name "Studio One Pro" rather than the version number. If things don't go to plan I wouldn't be surprised if they had a rethink and a rebrand come V8 just like they did with V7.thebutler wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 8:37 am Didn't they say something about doing away with 'version' numbering per se, with this whole move into 'yearly' based releases.? Sure. They are preparing the final steps before the upcoming major feature drop that introduces a new ROMpler instrument which integrates all previous S1 instruments into a single, allmighty platform. Plus an astonishing handcrafted and subscriber-exclusive sound package featuring 30+ new patches and soundscapes. You don't want to miss that one!Fornicras wrote: Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:42 am Hopefully, this long silence from PreSonus means they got something huge for 7.5/8.

I just want them to add randomization tools and 3d party midi inserts on instrument tracks.

Personally, I only want them to fix the delay compensation. And if there is some capacity left: Please move the plugin window's "dismiss button" (the small "x" in the title bar) to the left in the macOS version. Year after year, I still don't get it why this has to be the only popup window of all applications I run that displays the dismiss button at the right side and not the left, which is default for macOS.
