UA is still giving away the LA-2A Tube Compressor (the stripped down version without the R37 control) until the 30th. They may or may not continue to make it available for free after the 30th.

Just noticed that Overloud has one which I think has not been mentioned. I have never tried it, but their stuff is usually pretty good. No iLok and a way to store the activation on a USB thumb drive which is good for offline use.

The UAD LA2A Collection (it's actually 3 very different LA2A models) is the best of them. I've got a real one, FWIW... not a vintage one, but the current UA version... and I'm not real impressed by the other emulations. YMMV though.

Currently one of the plugins from the collection is free, until tomorrow I think. The free one is the Silver btw (the most modern one), even though it uses a different GUI skin. The HF knob is missing on the free one, but it's not set to the same default as the Silver HF knob is.

I used it for some time (before buying UAD collection); it also has a pretty good LA3A emulation, but I found its LA2A emulation to be a little dark sounding.
