Hello KVR!

I love vocoders. I love them so much that I roped a friend into building a vocoder plugin with me. I hope you like it! Robot Rocket delivers the distinctive sound of a classic 90s vocoder.

It features two modes: Retro and modern. In retro mode, Robot Rocket will sound very familiar, and a bit lo-fi. The “TalkBox” program is probably the one you’ve heard the most. In modern mode, more controls are available to push Robot Rocket into new soundscapes. Turn the quality setting up, and Robot Rocket will sound smoother, and more intelligible.

We created this plugin, because the method used (linear predictive coding) is pretty rare for vocoders. There was nothing else available that achieved the sound we were after.

Robot Rocket is currently Audio Unit only, but we’re considering making a VST version, if enough people are interested. Please let us know if you’d like that to happen.

Sounds great, the GUI looks nice and conducive to my workflow but I'd also need a VST version to use it.

What a delightfully cheeky promo video!! I love vocoders too, and the intelligibility sounds really clear in the video. You'll probably have a lot of people asking for a VST version though. I think the $29 intro price makes it appealing, and I wish you the best! :tu:

It's a fun plugin at a great price. Nice.

Pretty cool. I'd probably get it eventually because I do like vocoders and the like, but I do have a lot of them, and I just got Evoke so I'm not in any hurry. Otoh it sounded really good so I probably would end up getting it if it's ported to Windows, but not until next year.
