What did you think of the diode/XOR blend?

My last three days have been an endless journey of getting lost in my TR-1000. I still can’t believe Roland made the perfect drum machine for me.

I am happy that they have finally gone with a real analog digital hybrid. It does seem heavy in the menu diving department .Enjoy it and let us know how you feel about it after a couple of months have passed.

Yeah I picked up VS version 2 upgrade a couple of days ago. Looking forward to getting into the new stuff. I am curious about the live camera inputs in particular.

Yeah, there's certainly no shortage of menus on the TR-1000 - pretty much every control you see on the front panel has a submenu associated with it. The flip side is that there's no shortage of knobs, sliders, and buttons, either, and it's very customizable. Also, the software editor gives you quick and easy access to many of the menus as well. Roland threw everything including the kitchen sink into this thing, but it's actually pretty intuitive to get around once you get over the initial learning curve.

theyre fun using to subtract from the visuals, or even just with some feedback 8)
i need some decent tripods/camera stands and another camera to make better use of it. but thats just a general thing anyway, one single static camera gets booooring

I don’t get to keep all my stuff out all the time, so I make these little setups in ProCreate using layers to turn on/off different arrangements.

This is important for when the brain wants to groove, but doesn’t want to remember where to plug things in.

*And I ordered a customized vinyl sticker for the patchbay, so that’ll help too.

Definitely not out of beta yet, with current road map set for a 1.0 in early next year. They might have said a goal of January.

It is becoming more stable and they do have some new features that are starting to make it a unique device. The highlights being added fx per mode, and a drift mode, with an alternate drift mode in the works.

The big things to come in a 1.0 release are midi sync, and use of the SD card for sampling direct to card, as well as saving states directly on the card. Use of the SD is what will set it apart for me in how often it gets used.

The sampling, including overdub, is super easy and even more so compared to Morphagene.
