Nice! I’m jealous!

I'm digging it a lot so far, spent about an hour last night just on the first four patches

In the end I went with the Stellar (of course ). Should arrive today.
Good choice! That’s very cool looking! 8)

I sold the hardware to make space and inputs for another synth, but I have the software. Despite the analog filters, the software sounds pretty much identical, but the hardware was so much more fun to use. I still toy with the idea of buying another one someday.
Was there much menu diving involved or was it quite immediate to use & program?

Post

It’s been a while since I sold mine and I believe there have been some firmware updates since then, but I don’t recall there being much, or very deep, menu-diving. The most-used parameters have dedicated controls or a click-combo away and everything was pretty immediately accessible and intuitive. The only annoyance I recall having was that the presets always reset to patch 01 at startup and the only way to navigate them from the front panel is (was?) with a single endless rotary, so it took a lot of knob-twisting to get to a preset. I think I recall someone saying that Arturia addressed this, though?

if im honest, i dont remember, but i dont think so.
what they did say, it currently has around 30 "apps" (sequencers, lfos, envelopes...) and they are open sourcing the software, so it will be many more apps soon enough id imagine, some "out there" ones too at a guess...
it does the cv - midi and back.

for me, once in a while ill patch up something, and think "damn if only i had another...." and in a reasonably sized package (about the same as a keystep) id have many options and without taking up rack space, as its not that often the thought happens that i need more...
obviously, price will factor a great deal, because as much utilities as it offers, it is still utilities, and they are not sexy, even when they look like this  so i will find it difficult to put too much cash that way.

but no, sorry i dont remember a price
(just come in from a shed session, jibberjabber)

On MW they are saying 650€
https://www.modwiggler.com/forum/viewto ... 7#p4389007

Seeing that it does CV>MIDI and MIDI>CV means it's got a lot of ADC and DAC.

It's really compelling but I just hate configuration apps so much, when there is no other way to do the deep editing.

Post

thats not too bad tbh, 650.
i hear you on the configuration business, if its too much of a pain, it might get used a few times, then collect dust...
im not in ny rush for it, i know it comes out next thursday, but i might see how others feel with it first, as i have plenty of new stuff already :D

I always go back on forth on that. Flexibility is great, but sometimes having something that does the same thing every time, can be better.

Cool thank you. It does appear to be a fun synth and also a powerful synth. I like the way Arturia do things. I have a Minibrute MK1 and it's one of my favourite synths to use (although it's knob-per function so obviously a bit different). Arturia seem to pull off making things that are fun and great sounding which to me are the most important aspects

i don't really have anything so flexible? only thing i have with multiple modes is cvilization, so i can't say anything here one way or the other?
i hope they do well with it though, nice guys :)

I would not mind one either!

The same reason I’m interested in this is the reason I occasionally look at TE’s OP-XY, but that price is any reminder to say no.

I have Push 3 to communicate to desktops and the main rack, but it’s not a small thing to move around.
