Hi Everyone I'm New to the forum. Could do with some help regarding reaper DAW

Hi Everyone I wonder if you could help me, I have installed Reaper DAW on my computer so that I could try the free VSTi Neural Amp Modeler out. I have followed the instructions and set the vst path to a folder i named vsti plugins, but I don't seem to be able to find where plugins are in the file menu or any other menu in reaper. I must have done something wrong, I thought it would be simple and I could just open the plugin in reaper, but I don't know where to find the plugin which I put in the folder I named vsti plugins. Will it work if i re-direct the pathway to the vsti plugin directly without putting the vsti in a folder? I can't seem to figure it out, and my guitar is screaming out for some new sounds. Hope Y'all could understand what I'm trying to say.

I use the track menu - insert virtual instrument on new track.
That gives the instrument window where you can choose your vsti and start a new track with it.

Neural Amp Modeler is an effect I believe, not an instrument?

Firstly I'd check you have the VST path correct, it's a vst3 plugin so default location is C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3, i'd be amazed if the installer didn't put it there. Then check you have this path specified in Reaper, Options > Preferences > VST, pretty sure that VST3 path is in there by default. While you're there it wouldnt hurt to click the Rescan button to look for new plugins, ensure it's been picked up etc.

Then on your track with your guitar connected, you should be able to click the FX button and search in the Track FX Window for NAM, that's where plugins are, not in the file menus etc. That should be it...

Ok, first things first: have you tried opening the fx browser and search it there?
Otherwise if you still can't find it there you need to go toptions and look for it under "plugins failed to scan and see if it's there and click on it to rescan it.
Also look if under these option the path is set correct. And tiny tipp: when trying out new plugins always create a folder called "tryouts", it's so much easier in the long run when you'll try to free up some space on your harddrive

NAM is VST3. The VST3 path is fixed. On Windows, it is
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

Make sure you place name there.

REAPER's VST3 path should already point to the above path by default.

Create an audio track in REAPER and then load NAM into an effect insert in the track's mixer channel. Make sure you are looking for NAM in REAPER's VST3 effects plugin menu.
