ghettosynth wrote: Wed Oct 01, 2025 8:21 pm Daisy is even more approachable now that you can use Plugdata to directly export to Daisy. That said, the effect that I'm after here is the specific artifacts of the FV-1 and the PT-2399. Both are weak choices for clean sounding DSP.
Yeah, I totally get it. Synthfox has a Arduino based sampler project with VC clock oscillator if you are interested. https://sfcs.neocities.org/module/SFP26/
I have an itch to build a delay similar to the Cocoquantus, where everything but the RAM is discrete or CMOS. It's way impractical but it'll be fun. So many of my bread board projects don't go anywhere but I always learn something!

C'mon! It's not so bad. Doing bends to the ram chip is a lot of fun

Sorry, that was OT.
There is this module which looks pretty cool and gives an idea of some of the neat things about the chip. https://x1l3.bigcartel.com/product/unde ... ack-module

I just got tracking info for my Umbra. It should arrive on Monday. :hyper:

This week: MiniFreak Stellar and BeatStep Pro.

The Stellar is so gorgeous, I was actually impressed *after* getting it, always a good sign for GAS purchases. Sounds amazing too. Only wish so far would be for the Brute filter instead of the SEM, but its cool, it is a decent SEM filter.

got my polimaths and friends :D

Congrats! And please let us know how the workflow is, as in how it compares with the Elektron boxes.

I’m just curious. This one has too big of a foot print for me to add, but looks like they made a killer box.

Umbra arrived today. It's a really nicely made module. I wish it had phase reverse switches for the returns but it's no biggie.
Image

I made a no-input patch featuring Mimeophone and Qpas. No other effects, just modulating the filters and delay time a little.

Have you added the module to the rack yet? Mine come Monday.

I want to order an Umbra too, but I realize, going in means I likely have to set aside for Multiwave and a 2nd QXG!

foosnark wrote: Wed Oct 01, 2025 11:47 pm Polimaths does seem like a clever module with a lot of versatility, but mostly it covers things I either don't care about or already have covered some other way.
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

In advance of Korg releasing (early next year supposedly) their rather curious electro-acoustic 'synth' called Phase 8, which I'm eyeing up:

I bought a 21-note kalimba with electric pickup for a cheap and cheerful £60 last week.
Good for pure plinky sounds, as well as running through brutal distortion (like Konono Number 1) and other pedals, and also for textural scraping sounds and mysterious background thumps!

not yet, busy reading the manuals, and playing with ring mods :band:

it is tempting, but i can "probably" do stereo feedback without it, just with less control :hihi:
i have the space, and the cash isnt unattainable in time, so we will see...

well i say i have space, with the nuss things all in, my make noise case will be filled. top row i already have 1u left, and need to dig out my 1u blank (think it came with bruxa?)

Excellent idea :)

Finally completing my collection of WMD eurorack drum modules with a used Chimera.

Quite funny that I said I had no GAS for the TR-1000 as it’s too pricey for me to contemplate but ModularGrid tells me my eurorack case full of drum modules is worth about five grand.

Guess that’s the “oh maybe just one more module” nature of the beast.
