didn't see it mentioned here..,

as the name indicates, it´s rather simple in controls and (probably) works as a teaser for a more feature rich version further down the road, but so far I quite like it (short time with it, though).
I demoed adptr utopia quite a while ago but the sound of this one on piano gives me back vibes from it (someone with Utopia might prove me wrong), all in all not bad for free :)

Yeah I'm under the impression there's some spectral filtering/focusing stuff going on in Temperance, which I don't think Utopia does; that just performs a kind of 'dumb' spectral decay.
The full version of this should be interesting but this is a great free intro product! It's almost stepping into Adaptiverb territory (which I don't own but have heard).

indeed. great free intro, I agree...

...as a musical resonator device I will benefit of a keyboard control or presets alternance to match scales changes in a composition ?

Post

Only the resonant notes themselves can be automated on or off; no MIDI in.

Yes, midi keyboard input to select the notes would transform this from curiosity to great tool. I suspect the full paid version, when it comes, will have this.

it sounds to me like it just uses a bunch of comb filters, because the reverb lights up when the input has the same pitches. on some settings it almost sound like chroma was embedded in the various reverb types' delay networks somewhere. i think it's a comb filter mainly because the big knob in the center can be turned to positive or negative values with 0 in the center, just like a comb filter's feedback parameter would. but just a wild guess

yes looks relevant, but I thought that negative values on this plugin sound different than negative values on a delay network ?

to me it sounds very similiar. positive feedback always adds the same frequency to it that was already there, so you get a bright energetic glow. negative feedback is multiplying the signal with -1 as it gets feedbacked into the audio buffer, so it initially notches the frequency out. the next iteration is flipped in polarity again, which sorta brings the frequency back a bit, but overall you get more of a sense of notching. the visualisation around the feedback knob also looks like that

wait a year and get a good crossgrade price ?

besides some price fall anyway

thinkable to me ;)

Is this not just another take on what adaptiverb does?

Post

no AFAIK, its definitely different

Kinda nifty, but not really worth the CPU cycles. One can get very very similar effects and with more control, by putting a resonator on a send and then feeding that into some reverb. Or into a spectral smearing effect and then into a reverb. Or lots of other things.

The emphasis of notes in the "room modes" sounds pretty heavyhanded at most positive settings. Having the feedback network notch out a set of notes seems like it could very easily be a great tool for mixing.

It would be very cool to have this support mts esp for nonstandard tunings. I'll check out the full version when it's available for sure.

It really does sound like a modal/comb filter bank into some kind of reverb. Maybe some kind of FDN.

You can get a similar effect with ADPTR Utopia but that's not as heavy handed as this.
