MidiGator mayhap? I'm not familiar with it so I don't know if it does what you're asking. Don't know if you have to pay for it or if it's free.

yes, my plugin, ADSR, when being used in gain mode: https://github.com/Mrugalla/ADSR
you can shape each curve, it has velocity, legato modes, temposync, lookahead, midi output

Thanks for the help guys, will look into both when I can. I wanted a gate that has a simple open-close function to allow midi through, so I can take a free running sequencer and break up the patterns easily. Good day

A midi-controlled audio gate would achive the same result I guess, but if you wanted a midi-controlled/sequenced midi note gate then if your DAW supports scripting (e.g. Reaper, Logic etc..) then someone could code something simple for you, I expect.

sounds more like u are looking for a midi filter more than a midi controlled audio gate (which exists too)...I would check all the midi manipulator tools...many daws have them as well...tracktion and mulab have midi filter native plugsJonathan Shepherd wrote: Mon Oct 06, 2025 3:38 pm Thanks for the help guys, will look into both when I can. Ah, ok. Midi filter it is! I have Mulab so I'll check it later. And that ADSR looks like a true keeper.

The piz midi collection will have something
midiNoteToggle – Notes (optionally within a selected range and/or channel) are toggled. Play a note once to turn it on, play it again to turn it off.

another approach could be to use a midi velocity plugin, set it to result in all notes having velocity value of 0, then link its bypass to how ever you'd like to control it with.
