They tend to make platform-wide improvements. The only times I can remember them adding features to individual plugins were when they released mk2 versions.

is it possible to tag third-party and user presets? with "Pad" or "Bass" etc? Would be good to select the "Pad" button for example, and have a list of all Pad presets from factory, user and third-party... would be handy i guess.

You can open the preset file in a text editor and add the tags there. It works in Luna, not sure about other DAW's.

the prospect of editing hundreds of presets in text files is a bit offputting.

Oh, sorry, I just found that you can easily add and remove tags with the up and down arrows. Again, I'm not sure how this works in other DAW's.

Downloaded this thing just to try it, the GUI is all weird, it is bigger than the window for it, so the FX section is not visible. I also downladed thh Ravel piano. Is really this the famous UAD quality? quite disappointing to be honest. i did like the browers that opens to the left.

As for the synth, sounds good, not sure it is worth for me, i did like the filters more than the ones in Serum.

I’ve discovered that most UAD instruments—except for a few I occasionally use, like the B3 Organ, Minimoog, and Electra 88—are the kind you buy with excitement, hardly ever use, and end up replacing with something more suitable each time, which can be a bit of a time sink.

Could anyone share if they actually use these regularly?

Regular user here, mostly Opal occasionally Polymax. I'm sure I've said before somewhere but I use them because to me they sound great. The mod matrix on Opal can be a bit fiddly but otherwise very simple to use

polymax, waterfall b3, opal and anthem here... they've all become part of my rig quite recently but i dare say they'll stick around. Time will tell i guess. The oscillators, filters, envelopes, effects etc generally all high quality. None of them reach the depth of things like Serum, Avenger, Falcon, Ana and the like - but the raw sound is there, and the included features cover enough ground to make a wide range of sounds. The GUIs are well laid out and easy to use. They all feel quite solid. Great bread and butter stuff in my opinion.

I think you have a point. Opal sounds great, but I'm not very fond of its GUI (especially the FX matrix, it's terrible). So I always end up looking for something faster to work with.

yeah, I have all of them and the only ones I really use is Anthem and Electra 88 occasionally.

ahh, I don't think they all sound great, I think they all sound good at least, and maybe anthem and electra 88 sound great to me.
I have mini moog emulations that i prefer more than theirs (model 72, the legend hz (though this goes beyond a mini moog)), I have synths I prefer to opal and polymax. I prefer ik's B3 to theirs, I dont think Ravel was ever even in contention..

That is my two cents, can't speak for others.

I have all three and use them quite a bit. The only one I get annoyed with is Electra 88 but that's just because it takes 2+ minutes for the samples to load every time I open a new instance. But it sounds great IMHO.

yeah, that sample loading thing for me is annoying, especially when there is no visual cue that it is loading, I have to keep playing till i hear sound.
