GForce has a track record of consistently supporting their products for decades. Easily one of the most trustworthy developers and I can't think of a single thing they've done to deserve these comments.HM wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 4:54 pm They have not earned my trust ,... but quite the opposite actually
I will return in some years maybe, to see if they are getting more trustworthy![]()

I think the Halogen FM Synth shows they are willing and ready to go into non traditional areas for them.
I would be surprised if this wasn't just the beginning of going into non Virtual Analog Emulations for them.

I have to second this. In my experiences over the (many) years they're a top notch company in every respect. Nothing shady about themUncle E wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 5:31 pmGForce has a track record of consistently supporting their products for decades. Nope. I have some complaints about their synths -- lack of MPE and/or MTS-ESP or a way to do non-12-tone-equal-temperament, some UI jank, and long release cycles between fixing bugs -- but their support is responsive and they clearly care about long-term quality.HM wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 11:57 am And in general, is GForce giving the customers a lot of regrets ?

1. It's purely subjective, but I'd say stick with v2. They added wavetable to v3 which imo didn't add anything useful for my tastes and is pretty limited anyway. They might expand wavetable functionality in the future but that also doesn't interest me in the slightest. There were some other changes but none of which were particularly useful to me either. Loads more presets, many of which are very good, so that was nice. TBH it wasn't a lot of money for the upgrade but for my purely subjective opinion it wasn't worth it. It took impOSCar in directions I don't like or want.HM wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 11:57 am Didnt dig this topic in details ,.. but opinions look like a very mixed back
Got version 2 for free ,.. would I be better dressed just to stick with that, and keep the upgrade-money in my pocket ?
And in general, is GForce giving the customers a lot of regrets ?
2. Regrets? No. G Force are one of the good guys. Good value, quality product, great support, nice company. In recent years almost nothing they've released caters to my taste but that's not their fault and I won't bag them for it, I just haven't bought them. Plenty of people love their product. TBH I'm puzzled as to why you cast them shade. If you don't subjectively like the sound of their synths, it really doesn't make them a bad company. I wish more sw companies were like GForce...I just wish they made more synths to my taste.

What I really liked about v3 was mainly the improved interface. For me that was the thing that made impOSCar usable again. But just talking sounds, I would say v2 is good enough.kritikon wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 8:13 pm 1. It's purely subjective, but I'd say stick with v2. v3 broke presets from v2 that use the custom partial sets. I reported the bug and I got a pretty hostile reaction, but the fact is, it's broken. You can kind of approximate it if you go in and custom edit the waveforms, but it's not easy. So if you rely on those, stick with v2. I do like v3, overall, though, but I wish they'd fix that bug.DrGonzo wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 4:03 amWhat I really liked about v3 was mainly the improved interface. That was unexpected. Gforce has never treated me badly in any way, always the opposite. Sorry to hear that.zerocrossing wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 4:27 amv3 broke presets from v2 that use the custom partial sets. You might be talking about the bug I mentioned. It makes old presets sound a lot duller, but it's not because it can't reproduce those frequencies. It's got something to do with how their new wavetable engine reproduces those old waveforms.

Is it possible to run v2 and v3 on the same computer?
