It's amazing what you can actually achieve on an iPad. "Dementia" is an interesting
track with many different elements, perhaps something like "modern urban rock"
or "ambient story"—or something in between. A fantastic rhythm kicks in at
around 2:00, really great! At about 6:30 minutes long, the track still seems short.

Overall, this is a fascinating, epic, multifaceted, entertaining track that is hard
to categorize, but nevertheless - or perhaps precisely because of that - is very
impressive. :tu:

Thank you. This is dedicated to my cousin Dan. He was one of the original hippies from the 60s. I hope he is looking down and saying… far out, Paulie!

What iPad DAW did you make this on and what specific plugins do you use on your master bus? Very nice work. Love your songs.

Thank you! I like to use Cubasis v2. I bought version 3, but it's problematic. Long story, TLDR. I only use an iPad and a stylus. That is, no external keyboards. That's another long story. I start by creating some MIDI in the Cubasis editor, then I try it with different synths. I have dozens of those and probably thousands of presets to play with. If I'm not coming up with any ideas, I use an app called Piano Motifs to generate some bulk MIDI. It's extremely flexible and creates and endless supply of patterns. It has a wide variety of configurations that you can set to match the "mood" of whatever you are trying to do. It's almost like AI and the developer is a great guy. I accumulate a bunch of patterns and spread them out over 20-30 tracks. When I'm done, the project page looks sort of like a crossword puzzle.

When I have enough "music", I try applying effects on the individual tracks to see if it adds anything. I mostly just use EQ, reverb, delay, and a bit of compression. When it sounds okay, I mix it all down using DDMF and MagicDeathEye Stereo. It's a stupid name, but a really great compressor. Finally, I look at the waveform in AudioShare. I tend to mix at low levels and bring things up together in the final mixdown process. That let's me keep the individual track levels consistent with each other. As long as it's not too quiet or clipping, I'm satisfied. Then I post it to Bandcamp and SoundCloud and wait to see if anybody likes it.

Thank you for listening, and your encouraging comments. I needed that today. The last few days have been rough. My wife has been very sick, and went to emergency a few nights ago. My brother-in-law was diagnosed with lung cancer and is going into surgery today. If you are a praying man, say a few words for Scott. God will know who you are talking about.

Have a beautiful day!
