Not talking about ones that you drag and drop or import wav files. No, this is about insert FX. Obviously these kinds of plugins will create a buffer and then rearrange on subsequent passes, like Buffer Shuffler in Ableton, as one person has pointed out.
I'm only aware of two that I can think of right now:
Sugar Bytes Looperator
Sensei (Reaktor ensemble)
I use both, they have their good and not so good.
Any others out there?

I use Effectrix and Infiltrator a lot. Both have looper effects but those aren't the same thing. That's more like a beat repeat, sort of. Looping just the last time segment.kraster wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 7:01 pm Infiltrator, Lunacy audio's Beam with the time module, Sugarbytes Effectrix.
The Looperater Slice Rearranger reads the last buffer, cuts that into 16 (or less I think if you want) and then you can tell it to play Slice6 when it gets to Slice8, for instance. The Sensei does the same thing.
I'm talking about a true Slice Rearranger, not looping effects (which are cool and fun too).
I messed with the Time module in Beam yesterday for the first time. I might have missed that it can rearrange slices, will have to go back and play with it. Their webpage says it can "Rearrange the position and direction of your incoming audio to shuffle and reverse your buffer." So I must play with it some more, thank you!

You may want to take a look at BreadSlicerPRO by Audioblast. At $99, the full version is pretty expensive. But it goes on sale throughout the year, including on sites like audioplug-in.deals. They also have a trimmed down version that’s free to use. https://www.audioblast.me/product/breadslicer-pro/
Another real-time option is Graindad by Sugar Bytes https://sugar-bytes.de/graindad This plug-in is much more advanced and feature rich than Breadslicer that’s also available for $99. It’s a really well-designed creative effect that can rearrange the slices in interesting ways, plus a whole lot more.
A 3rd option is Slice by Lese for $35 https://lese.io/plugin/slice/ This one is a looper and slicer with up to 9 simultaneous sound loopers/granulators. In addition to real-time functionality, there was an update that also added an audio file drag & drop feature for those who want that ability.

Yeah. I think they're commonly known as buffer shufflers. ie. You need to fill a buffer first. (Otherwise how would it know!)
Beam's time module has a duration which sets the amount of time you want the buffer to read in bars.
The shuffle mode then allows you to pick which division you want to play, reverse it etc.
Two cool things about Beam's shuffler is that you can add slices where you want instead of being stuck to strict divisions. You can move slices off grid if you want.
The other cool thing is that you can have three of them in series or in parallel.
Ableton's Buffer shuffler 2.0 is still the best I've come across.

I really like oxywave, use it mainly for rechopping but it has ring modulation/100+filters(LP/HP/comb/phasers) & multiband split

Might be a bit far away from your core goal but DelayCat does rearrange a buffer in interesting ways https://www.redtimbreaudio.com/product-page/delaycat

Yes, that is a better way of describing it: Buffer Shuffler. I think I played with it once in Ableton but Ableton has never stuck for me. Forgot about Buffer Shuffler. I'm going to modify the original post.kraster wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 9:32 pm

Ableton's Buffer shuffler 2.0 is still the best I've come across.
So there seems to be two types, sort of (very vaguely):
1) Buffer Shuffler type which is being rather specific about the Slice rearrangement
Looperator
Sensei
Beam Time module
2) Time Manipulation
MRhythmizer/MRhythymizerMB (own these but you know, that UI)
ShaperBox (not a big fan, very limited editing capabilites, can't even LFO the 'Mix' of an effect)
OxyWave (been wanting to check out the OxyDSP stuff anyway)
time12 (need to try)
And then unobtanium such as SupaTrigga, ha. Is there a version of SupaTrigga out there like LiveCut? I use the current LiveCut a lot. My search didn't turn up anything.
DelayCat. Have this, need to play with it some more, never dived into how it worked.

Dang this looks promising, but I don't want to buy full Reaktor for this.Uncle E wrote: Sat Oct 11, 2025 10:29 pmIn case anyone needs it, here's the link:

Stutter edit 2, glitch 2..... Stuff that's already been mentioned. If you want to get down and dirty you should get into reaktor or pure data or super collider.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

Sugar Bytes have been mentioned a couple of times in the thread, but I don't think anyone has suggested Turnado yet. The Slice Arranger module is the most fun version of this I've discovered so far. Sadly, you are limited to the 50 preset patterns inside the module, but there's quite a bit of mileage to be had there. My dream plugin would be something that operates in this exact manner, but allows you to go in and edit the patterns individually.manymanyhaha wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 6:19 pm
Sugar Bytes Looperator
Sensei (Reaktor ensemble)
I use both, they have their good and not so good.

My favourite thing is to run my guitar through a looper, recording simple parts, and then run the looper output into Turnado to rearrange the loops on the fly (I might have a video around here somewhere that I could dig out to demonstrate...)
