WARNING: IK Multimedia hardware is usually buggy and becomes unsupported very quickly, leaving you to deal with a semi functioning device that will never be corrected.

Thinking more of an ARC X Correction And Speaker Simulation thing for headphones. Most already have -expensive- headphones and don't another pair. And Slate wasn't all that great.

Or a voice constantly telling you your music sucks and you should give it up and take up macrame instead.

Yeah, I’m concerned IK is going to make you buy some hardware like ARC Studio to get it. If they simply were adding it to ARC X, I doubt there would be a whole marketing campaign behind it. They would have just included it from the beginning, since ARC X just came out.zerocrossing wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 9:17 pm WARNING: IK Multimedia hardware is usually buggy and becomes unsupported very quickly, leaving you to deal with a semi functioning device that will never be corrected.
The biggest problem with this is, as you point out, IK hardware products seem to have a very short lifespan before they are discontinued and replaced by a “MKII” version. Or just discarded down the memory hole like my StealthPedal that doesn’t work on Apple Silicon.

I'm feeling pretty burned that Uno Synth Pro X was released with a buggy (confirmed by many reports and complaints on the forums) editor, and there was not a single update. I was ghosted by support (as per usual) and I figured a year had gone by, so I gave them another message and I was told that development for the plugin had stopped. WTF?jamcat wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 10:02 pmYeah, I’m concerned IK is going to make you buy some hardware like ARC Studio to get it. Headphone correction seems likely. An IK version of Slate's VSX is also a possibility.

I've burned by IK's lack of support for their hardware so many times, I'm just not willing to let them screw me again. There's no point in buying anything new from them. All the support I've gotten for their hardware has come from members of pro audio forums like this one. Since support is non-existent why pay full price and give them my dime? I'd rather buy used and give my money to another poor musician like myself. Screw 'em. That being said I really WOULD like to have a Tonex pedal....damn you IK!!

Dear god. I always just assumed that hardware was their strong suit.
Hopefully this isn't a new product but an atonement for their sins!
