It was in the year 2002. The 24 year old 'kid' who had written the audio engine was me.jamcat wrote: Sat Oct 11, 2025 8:37 am I remember that. But it wasn't designed by Michael. Some upstart hotshot kid was behind it. Wonder whatever happened to him.
That is for the 8000, not the 8080Matt67 wrote: Sat Oct 11, 2025 10:14 amNot sure, but I think V1.05 is available here:Trancer wrote: Sat Oct 11, 2025 9:08 am Regarding the firmware, surprisingly, the JP 8080 firmware is nowhere to be found on the Roland website.

Somehow, Markus missing the joke, or replying deadpan pretending to miss the joke (I don't know which it is) made it a lot more endearing.

Sorry, I can only find the firmware for the JP 8000.
You mentioned the previous page and the link for the firmware for the JP 8080, but I can't find that page.

Under Part 3 in the license agreement it says:Matt67 wrote: Sat Oct 11, 2025 10:14 amNot sure, but I think V1.05 is available here:Trancer wrote: Sat Oct 11, 2025 9:08 am Regarding the firmware, surprisingly, the JP 8080 firmware is nowhere to be found on the Roland website.

Oh. Sorry.Trancer wrote: Sat Oct 11, 2025 8:09 pm To be clear, I have no intention of doing any business, selling anything, using the code, or anything else...
My question here was related to the next VST from Usual Suspects.
My question was that I found it strange that the firmware for the JP 8000 and not the JP 8080 was available on the Roland website.
I don't quite understand what you mean.
My question here was basically about the availability of the firmware for the JP 8000 and not the JP 8080.
So to be clear, I absolutely do not intend to use the firmware for the JP 8080 to do anything illegal.
I use the Arturia version and the excellent vst Viper.
Using an emulator does not violate any of what the Roland license agreement states. It's legally the same thing as loading the firmware onto a JP-8080. The firmware code is not being modified or distributed by a third party. There have already been numerous cases proving that emulators are 100% legal and don't violate laws as the company's intellectual property is not being modified or distributed.D-Fusion wrote: Sat Oct 11, 2025 7:58 pmUnder Part 3 in the license agreement it says:Matt67 wrote: Sat Oct 11, 2025 10:14 amNot sure, but I think V1.05 is available here:Trancer wrote: Sat Oct 11, 2025 9:08 am Regarding the firmware, surprisingly, the JP 8080 firmware is nowhere to be found on the Roland website.

So good luck to you if Roland discover that you use this software.
I will never use any of their Cracked hardware unlock keys for these synths and use Arturia Jup 8000V and Viper instead.
