The ToneX pedals are fine and well-supported. But those are probably their best-selling hardware products by an extremely large margin.

Of course they are. All the others have been discontinued!
And in a couple years, they'll be dropped too, for IK's "next big thing."
And on and on it will go...

So, from my own experience with IK hardware... yes and no. I bought an AXE I/O Solo about 3 years ago and loved it, best sounding interface for guitar, brilliant. A week after the warranty expired, it died. The actual hardware worked, it just wouldn't connect to a computer (I'm in IT so I know what I'm doing). IK graciously took them item back for a warranty repair (that was more of a hassle getting it back to Italy than it should've been, but it got there in the end). They fixed it and sent it back, it all worked fine, yay. Then 2 months later it died again, exactly the same issue. Couldn't be arsed, threw it away (I bet it was a 10c USB chip).CapnLockheed wrote: Sat Oct 11, 2025 8:15 pm I've burned by IK's lack of support for their hardware so many times, I'm just not willing to let them screw me again. There's no point in buying anything new from them. All the support I've gotten for their hardware has come from members of pro audio forums like this one. Since support is non-existent why pay full price and give them my dime? I'd rather buy used and give my money to another poor musician like myself. Screw 'em. That being said I really WOULD like to have a Tonex pedal....damn you IK!!![]()

Used a Mackie interface for years before that and have used it ever since, rock solid, so it wasn't me or my PC, deffo crap hardware. Shame, as it was awesome.

Heh,....I bought the full AXE I/O.....used. Then was shocked to find out that, unlike most companies that make audio interfaces, IK refuses to host drivers on their site. When I tried to get help from IK support, they basically told me to go piss up a rope and refused to help me out with the drivers. Thankfully, another user was kind enough to share them with me.
Mine still works but, after hearing your experience cprompt, I wonder for how long. Good thing I didn't pay full price. That being said, my TWENTY year old Steinberg MI4 works just fine.

Maybe yours will last twenty years too, I hope so because it's a great interface. Just funny how mine failed the same way twice. It powered up fine from the USB connection it just refused to connect to my PC, and I tried three or four other computers too. Shame but it was way too much hassle going through IK support, filling in customs forms and shipping the damn thing off to Italy. Easier to cut my losses and move on.CapnLockheed wrote: Sun Oct 12, 2025 7:54 pm Mine still works but, after hearing your experience cprompt, I wonder for how long. Of course they have, FFS. They have to make room for their new headphones. Which they'll discontinue in a few years.jamcat wrote: Sun Oct 12, 2025 10:11 pm I have an AXE I/O Solo, too.

IK has to win the prize for the shortest life-cycles of any audio hardware maker.Of course they have, FFS. They have to make room for their new headphones. Which they'll discontinue in a few years.

there are nice improvements in the precision monitors, but i'm fine with my gen 1s. and the arc-x software is an improvement over the x-monitor software; my monitors sound better-than-ever.i can use them as long as they last.CapnLockheed wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 5:20 pmIK has to win the prize for the shortest life-cycles of any audio hardware maker.Of course they have, FFS. new hardware (or software) doesn't mean the older doesn't continue to work & serve a purpose...
